Title: Peregrine sex ratio

So many male Peregrine banded on Santa Rosa this year! Is that unusual for the Channel Islands nests overall or in the general population? Maybe because there are larger clutches the numbers are pretty even for male/female chicks? Or is recording sex on a large scale too new to come up with any conclusions? Inquiring minds would love to know!

The sex ratio is generally close to 1:1. The birds banded on Santa Rosa this year were 3:1 male, which could be due to low sample size (only 8 chicks banded).
