Cheers Kenneth, I appreciate that . Hope you got sorted with that yoke I gave you. Remember I said that I didn't think the head gasket was gone when looking at it once I took it off? While stripping and cleaning parts I found a bolt actually in the carb (it was one of the bolts that secures the carrier plate for the airbox on to the carb) I wonder could this habe been preventing one of the butterflies opening and therefore explain how the car drove with no power at all. Anyway I've been flat out cleaning and sanding. Should be good for the 26th.

Sort of half tempted to head down to it 800 mile return trip though. Some great memorys down there as i havent missed Rally of the Lakes in 25 years. Make sure to take in the Black Valley from The cottage to Molls then i defo will go |

Getting really tempted now,why did everyone go the wrong way at the top of the Gap? Maybe they turned right to go down the Black Valley now thats what you call a proper road. |
