She had calmed down, at least. A part of him felt a pang of guilt as he looked over that bowed head, bits of red peeking through the bonnet, but he knew it had all been for the best. She'd needed a reality check, and apparently it had now been given. In response to his question, her eyes had drifted off, over towards the mountains. "I doubt it...Timothy would not leave me in charge of his homestead. I shall most likely be put off on someone or be assigned a sitter.” Here again, Clint frowned. He had not missed the bitterness with which that last word had been spoken.

His purpose in talking to her had been to cheer her up, well right now it seemed as if he were doing just the opposite. He sighed again and stuffed his hands in his pockets, then coming up with a possible future plan that could work for them both. “Look, even if Tim says no...I'll still find a way. Anabel an' I c'n come and pick you up, take you out where he don't see, if he's that upset, an' teach ya there.” Clint offered as a sort of truce, shrugging his shoulders.

“Jus' one or two times and a few pointers, an' I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.” He assured her, offering her a small smile as he then looked up from her and towards the trail into town. It wasn't so far away, now.

“Look, even if Tim says no...I'll still find a way." Blinking, she looked back at Clint, a bit surprised.

"Anabel an' I c'n come and pick you up, take you out where he don't see, if he's that upset, an' teach ya there.” Staring at him, a smile slowly spread across her face. He was really something, this Clint Allen. Willing to risk Timothy's anger for the sake of her learning how to ride a horse. Tilting her head some, she smiled broadly at him, "That is exceedingly kind of you, Mr. Allen...and a much better idea."

“Jus' one or two times and a few pointers, an' I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.” Watching his attention move to the town, she moved beside him again, looping her arm through his again, nodding. "I shall be a hard working student, Mr. Allen, I promise."

Grinning, she nodded towards the town, "Shall we be off? Timothy might be done shopping by now."

Ah, now there's that smile. Clint couldn't help the smile that began tugging on the corners of his own lips the moment that her's started to appear. It was odd, really, the effect this woman had on him. Clearing his throat, still through a smile, he said, “Yeah, well...I hope it'll help ya to, cope.” He said, pausing just a little before letting out that last word.

“I wouldn't expect no less,” Clint said, seriously, as she spoke of being a hard working student. Even Anabel had learned to ride at a young age, well before Mrs. Garrett here. Of course, Ana had been raised on a farm, so... Hm. Still. "Shall we be off? Timothy might be done shopping by now." Looking down to meet Rose's gaze again, Clint's smile returned and he nodded.

“Let's go see if we cain't find the ol' tiger,” Clint said with a good hint of amusement in his voice, grabbing Wildfire's reins – which he'd loosed just a moment ago partially due to his shock and dismay – and again starting them off once more.
