![]() The Scaulter house came into Mr. Keen's posession due to the untimely death (and even if not for that, perhaps a risky loan) of Mr. Tom Scaulter, the town's former obnoxious drunk. It is currently still in the condition he left it, ramshackle and dilapidated, as Mr. Keen has not had the time or manpower to put into resuscitating it. Nonetheless, it is still up for rent, should anyone in desperate need of a cheap home be willing to take on Mr. Keen as their landlord. "If someone was to break into the house, they wouldn't think much of it. There's a mattress on the floor and an ancient worn bureau. There are a couple of chairs at a small dirty table. One has its back broken, the hinges are off. The other chair is no longer level as it once was. Dust and dirt is everywhere. The table is also hardly level and extremely dusty. You wouldn't be wrong to think that no one lived here, obviously they don't... Sometimes some town boys might climb through a window that weirdly seems always slightly ajar. The boys might stay over if they wanted to run away from home or have an adventure. The dust and dirt might keep most people away though. And there is nothing remaining worth much value." |
