Meet Mr. Keen. He's no outlaw, but he's certainly no hero, either. The weapon he wields doesn't go off with a bang or slice through the air. No, armed only with a pen and his wit (okay, okay, and a few loyal employees who do sling guns) Keen has waded into the sea of hopes, dreams and desperation out west to make his living. And, uh, he's living pretty well.

I for one am not sure whether he has any friends. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any but you never know. Maybe someone as twisted and cruel as Thomas is knows him and the two like to get together and throw a few back over their terrible exploits. Maybe not. Maybe everyone really does just hate him.

But what I do know is that there are men who work for him - either because he actually does cut a nice paycheck or because they're working off a debt they couldn't pay - and that there are women (whores or otherwise) with whom he has spent his lonelier nights. There are folks in debt , and there are folks in awe. But they're all folks and they all have some relationship to Thomas Reginald Keen.

Your Character's Name: Henry Scarborough
Your Character's Age: Will be 29 in December
Is Your Character In Contract With Mr. Keen?: No
How did they meet?: I imagine they have prob met a few times since Henry has owned the bank since about October of 1867. He also hands out loans and when they are not paid back he repossesses stuff however he does not always give them out willingly so I imagine if he turns someone away they may come to Thom. Maybe on ocassion there could be competition for clients or perhaps one person owes the both of them money lol a love hate relationship kind of thing perhaps.
How does your character feel about Mr. Keen?: By no means does he ever suggest to someone to burrow money from the guy but Henry can't really discount him on anything when he himself repossess people's land and even took the property that he lives on now from someone that didn't pay taxes. He does not lend money to first time business owners, the unemployeed and for stupid shit, like a vegetable garden. So people turned down by the bank may very well come to Keen instead. As much as he may not agree with the way Keen handles his "business" sometimes it is best to work with the guy if need be, if he screws someone over maybe they will be more careful and borrow money from the bank next time, despite the higher interest rate.
How do you think Mr. Keen feels about your character?: No idea, maybe just thinkin Henry is some little shit that doesn't know what he's doing half the time. He was the town drunk for a little bit when he first got here in 1867, and then on a random whim decided to buy the bank. So many were surprised by his impulse buy. But he has straightened out since then and is running for City Treasurer in Denver.

Hey Mr. Keen,

I don't know if you drink at all. But if you do and you decide to get a drink or a bite to eat at the First Chance Saloon and Inn, you'll probably see me, Nasty Tom, sleeping on one of the benches outside. No doubt you'd take quite a dim view of me, but I hate your sort of people too, so that's all right. I just wanna warn you that if you do have a drink in the saloon, you might run into me and I really hate people like you and what you stand for. And if I hear that you're treating the people of Buffalo Creek Bay badly, I'll make you one of my prime interests. Just a threat -- I mean a warning.

Take care, you hear.

Sincerely,
"Nasty Tom" Scaulter

Mr.Keen,

My only character thus far is a 16 year old boy, a young drifter fairly fresh into town so I doubt they know each other except maybe by glimpse on the streets.
