Her skin is a brownish hue with various scars written on it from a childhood in the ‘wildernesses. She has long dark hair that she often leaves abandoned or braided, depending on her mood. While Maia lives as a Native, she is not a full blooded one, and this becomes obvious in her facial features. Her dark brows and nose are clearly from her mother, a Cheyenne Indian. However her lips that are prone to a frown and her blue eyes that seem so out of place are from her father, an Englishman. As far as attire Maia tends to adjust to the seasons. In the summer she wears the more common buckskin dress and moccasins while in the winter she is prone to thick furs. Often her jewelry consists of shells, animal teeth or stones. PERSONALITY; Maiara is surprisingly intelligent for a woman and a native. If asked, Maia would contribute this to her grandfather, the tribe’s medicine man, and her late father who was once a School teacher. She is fluent in English, understands how to read and write on a below average level, and practices medicine well for her experience. However her knowledge is limited and it is needless to say that she is not educated in much more than what she already knows. She has always been a motherly type of personality, caring for the younger children, and preferring peace to war. In fact, Maia is one of the few of the local Indians who would rather not battle with the townsfolk- though she understands the reasons behind the hostility. However, Maia is not a confident or outspoken woman. She has a quiet voice and rarely disagrees with her elders or the men unless she truly believes in the reasons behind it. Her spirituality keeps her calm for most of the time, but when she does become angry or threatened Maia can be quite firm. While she has never struck another person Maia has been known to yell or insult others if she is pushed too far. Lately Maia has mostly been showing signs of depression since losing her husband. While she has always been quiet, she once was easily prone to a happy smile, but now Maia’s demeanor is more sober.
