As I said in another topic we have web space again. The question now is, since this time I own it instead of borrowing it, do we want to move our board over there or not?

It is far from being setup right now and it will take a little while to get finished, but if all goes well it should be really nice.

Now why would we switch? Well we wouldnt have the banner ads for one. Another reason is of course our own URL instead of the invisionfree one. Which should, not saying it always would, give us greater stability in terms of the servers being up and working. And having a source of pride in having our own.

All in all I would end up doing most of the work on this, possibly a few other people who might want to, and overall you wouldnt have to do much other than register again and update your bookmarks.

Dunno what it has to do with this...but meh I'm not complaining. Do what the hell you want. In the end it's your decision.

Great we have another one of those types on our board again. If the question already had a predetermined answer.. why would Ian bother asking for our opinions?

It is past due for us to pack up and move onto another board. It's been tradition now, for what.. 6 years? I wouldn't mind a change of atmosphere, personally. Plus, with us actually owning a board would mean better MODs (though things work just fine here). Hopefully, you just don't get too carried away with it, like Steel has in the past.

I don't mind lending my axe to help, problem is just finding the time as always.

I think things are just fine here and I have kind of gotten used to this place. But if we end up moving, I'll naturally help out.

The Pros seem to sound really good. The Cons (or atleast the one you listed of it being extra work) don't sound too bad. However, I don't know how hard the work is. Nor do I know how time consuming it would be for the MODs. Ofcorse with all the outstanding MODs on here it shouldn't be too hard.


Anyway just another opinion: I'm all for it.

They will be transferred over. The only thing I wont be able to bring over really are the topics, but just make new ones with the same title and figure the history is all there already.
