Hello,

I have bought Bluetooth RC several years ago:
(will send you my license key by email upon request)

My previous notebook computer is now going out of service and I want to re-register my key for my new one.
Would you please un-register the use of the software on my old machine so that Phone RC lets me do that?

Thanks,

Lutz Prechelt

I do not think this is funny.
I have already lost several weeks of usage now.
Please contact me @inf.fu-berlin.de.

Thank you,

I just noted there are quite a number of unhappy customers with more or less the same problem:

http://z7.invisionfree.com/Bluetooth_Share...?showtopic=8977
http://z7.invisionfree.com/Bluetooth_Share...?showtopic=8969

The only answer from the author appears to amount to 'I can give you another key if and only if you post your email address here.'

I did this already several days ago, but to no avail so far.
Another try: Please send me a fresh key to prechelt at inf fu-berlin de.

Thank you very much,

Lutz Prechelt

Nobody has stolen anything.

It is just a matter of a no-so-smooth licence key validation scheme (happens all the time)
and a somewhat low service quality (happens all the time, too).

I am still hoping for an improvement of the latter.
Please.

Hi,

We have not stolen anything... The licence grants you the right to do two separate installations and the second one is intended to be used after a complete reinstallation of the OS or if you change the computer.

However we are not "evil" and this is a limitation of the payservice esellerate we use and nothing we want to have. Our belife is that the low price to some extent compensate for this.

But in the past we have always added extra licences because we think that this limitation is wrong. But with a support box filled with SPAM and us not able to constantly look in the forum some users have not received extra licences...

This is not a excuse I only describe our view and hope to avoid some frustrations.

I managed to find you in the database and you have done two activations with the last one in february this year. But I have also added one extra for you.

5/29/2006 11:12:37 AM Activated 160.45.111.67
3/2/2009 5:10:20 AM Activated 131.246.35.58 new

Thank you very much.
I could re-activate my installation on my new computer now.

A quick note regarding the second activation:
This event completely baffles me and I am fairly sure that I have not manually activated the software on that day (which is March 2, not February 3).
The IP number is from a city where I was indeed traveling on that day, so I assume that that activation originated from my computer (which was still the old one at that time).
But it was surely not a reinstall.

So either I did something dumb (which I cannot remember and would not know why) or the software did something strange by itself or some mix of both.

I am a happy user of the phone remote. Every time I do technical presentations, I attract participants with my mobile phone controlling my PC. This also convinced some of my friend to purchase the blueshareware software.

Unfortunately, my hard disk crashed a few weeks ago. I needed to do a manual registration and the phone remote control worked fine again. However, a few days ago my phone remote stopped working. I noticed that I need to register. This time I got the message that the license is already installed on another PC. The only thing I remembered doing was a hard disk cleanup and defrag. Will this somehow affect the software license? May I have a replacement license?

Dear Blueshareware team,

Appreciate your attention;

- Question: Does the hard disk cleanup and defrag create problems with the phone remote license?

- Request: Replacement license to recover my previous installation

Looks like that this topic is already closed.
