Sky High Rainbow, Janth is Flying

Janth had been glowing for a while and it was scaring her rider, she woke one morning early with a screech. It was time to rise and she was telling the whole of the weyr that she was ready to fly and mate. She hoped that she would clutch this time, her first was not a clutch so hopefully this time would be, she went to the Blooding Grounds and snapped a Herdbeast's neck and sucked it dry. However she went for a second and to eat it, she was stopped by her rider. Who was simply pleased by the fact that she was Rising.

((Sorry this took so long. And is so bad. I'm bringing in T'vril and an NPC since Death's sterile. And I thought you should have some choice.))

T'vril was a recluse. It was a commonly known fact. At least, common to anyone who even remembered that he existed. It wasn't like he was an unpleasant person. He was quite nice once you got talking to him, if a bit shy, and at twenty-three Turns of age, he was a decent young man.
Except. for one small problem: Death.
He loved the Red Star dragon who had transformed his life. He really did. But most other people in the weyr, riders and dragons alike, despised him. It had been painful at first for him, when this creature had filled him with such hope and others with such loathing, but gradually he had gotten used to it.
He had decided that, if people would treat him differently because of the way his dragon's hide looked, then he had no need of people. That was what had led to him withdrawing from the Weyr the way that he had.

One day, completely unexpectedly, when the rider in question was relaxing in his Weyr, scribbling busily on a piece of parchment, they heard the trumpet of a Mating dragon...and Death did something completely unexpected.
I will chase her he declared. The dragon had not been around others since graduating from Weyrling lessons, which had been a difficult process given that his clutch mates mostly wanted him dead.
T'vril shot up.
"What?!"
You heard me.
He did not wait for another word, but the lithe dragon with the hide of writhing reds and silvers launched himself from the Weyr ledge, and into the air to chase the Rainbow beauty. He had never been affected this way before, and it scared his rider. But, of course, T'vril was not afraid of anything.

E'tlin was a new Transfer to Blue Orchid Weyr, and one of the last things that he'd expecting so soon after his arrival was to be dragged into a Flight.
However, once the unfortunate 20 turn old realized what was happening, he realized that he shouldn't be surprised. His dragon, Leninth, was an amorous Chicory who had flown in, and won, several flights in the past at their old weyr. It was for that reason that he'd transfered.
E'tlin was a calm, very ordinary man in personality and appearance, and had gotten tired of trying to reason with female riders who felt that his dragon should be more loyal to theirs. It wasn't like he could control Leninth's behavior!
This was no different. He groaned, that morning in his new quarters, as he saw the tell-tale signs about the dragon.
"Don't you dare," he warned, but it was no use.
Before he could object further, the Chicory had launched himself into the air, and soared towards the feeding pens, where the Rainbow was blooding.

((Okay so here's an NPC.... This post sucks but its all I can manage right now... And he may become a real character no matter what... ))

One lonely little male Violet had been snoozing on his ledge. The dark, nearly black-purple dragon was not one to do much by way of flights, but he was soo bored.... And he had been searching for some excitement to break the monotony of the day... He was so, so bored... And his bonded was not being much help at the moment. The rider was busy with his various comings and goings. So the poor Violet was stuck on his ledge, snoozing in hopes of riding out the day. He yawned, dreadfully bored.

The Violet, hailing to the name Yrillth, heard the mating calls. His head perked up in interest, listening for the thoughts of the Rising female. It was the Rainbow Janth. Hmmm... this could be interesting indeed. A rising dragoness meant a flight and something exhilarating. It would at least pay to get rid of his boredom... And perhaps something good would come of it.

The Violet trumpetted response to Janth's call, springing off his ledge with some speed and flying down to the Feeding Grounds. He landed at the edge of them, trumpetting his entrance into the flight. He waited, eager and glad for the source of amusement. No more boredom for him...

Janth roared with a feirceness that was foreign to the Rainbow, she was a normally happy go lucky Dragon. This was different for her she wanted more than anything to teach that Red Star to chase her! She was a very lovely female and he was a evil Red Star.

Do you honestly think that you can win?Death, you are an odd one for your color! She asked as she looked at him when the Violet joined in she smiled inwardly at least he was fertile perhaps she would choose him. At that moment she took notice of the Chicory, he was a decent one but she would choose carefully.

Death could have been defeated by her reaction. But the Red Star was used to hate. Shards--he'd faced it from the moment that he hatched. How could he expect her to react any differently?
He knew that he couldn't.
I expected no better he said bitterly, fanning his wings, as the silver strands danced across that fearful red. But you cannot stop me from trying.
He wanted to say something mocking--scathing. He wanted to show her....what, he wasn't quite sure.

But he did, more than almost anything. He wanted to prove that she was not better than him simply because of his hide colour.
He was a dragon, with the hide of the menace that they had once fought. That did not mean that he did not strive for the same things as the rest...
He remembered T'vril, his rider, and resolved not to humiliate him. His own honour was one thing. It had never existed. But his rider's...
He let out a roar and sprang airborne.
She did not want him, but that would not stop him from chasing his best.

Leninth already was feeling forgotten. It was not something that the handsome young Chicory was used to. He was used to being noticed--and it was clear that, this time, with the Red Star to overshadow him at least in terms of attention-grabbing, and the Violet too, he was not going to be the main chaser.
Well, that would make this a challenge.
He liked challenges.
Stretching lazily, the Chicory fanned his sapphire wings, never taking his eyes from the Rainbow beauty. She really was gorgeous...

He resolved to work harder than he ever had in a flight before. This one was WORTH winning, and for more than entertainment value.
Was she going to launch airborne yet? It didn't seem so. She was roaring, indignant, to the Red Star.
How dare that dragon think that he might be worthy of this dragoness? It was impudent! It was unthinkable!
Annoyed, he let out a cry of challenge.

Janth took off with a roar that could have shook the very caverns had she been bigger. But her size made it difficult, she went straight into the air and waited flipping in the air and showing off while waiting for the males. She was going to choose based on how the males reacted to her antics if they followed her every move then it would be even more difficult than she had thought.

Come on boys. She called lovingly to them hoping that they would indeed come and chase after her she was small yes but that only meant that she would not have a large clutch.

((My brain hurts, so this post shan't be up to my usual standards, I'm afraid.))

Death was already airborne when Janth sprang into the sky, so this naturally gave him some slight advantage.
The instant that she had taken to the air, he surged forwards with a roar almost as loud as hers, eyes swirling rapidly, their colours intense.
Death wanted to prove that he was just as good as any other dragon. What dragon would not desire to do so? Perhaps he had more reason than any of the others to win this flight...
But if he did, would she quite literally kill him? He was, after all, a Red Star.
Unworthy.

He did not consider it for more than a moment.
Death shot after her, wings pumping as he caught an air current to spiral after her. Despite his size, he was lithe, and could follow her.
However, he saw no reason to mimic her. Why bother?
He would simply do his best, and prove that he was strong, fast, and quick-moving. That was all he needed to be to win, right?

Leninth was not quite as stubborn as Death, but he was equally as determined taht he was worthy of winning the lovely Janth.
With a soft croon, he too sprang into the sky, and darted after her, pumping his wings furiously in order to catch up, and follow her. He wanted to show just how devoted he was, by following her.
After all, he could not risk losing her...He swooped after her, crooning again, eyes fixed on that glowing hide.

Janth took off at high speed towards the Hold but as she was over the land she sped back and turne quickly to prevent getting to far away. She wanted to lead them on a merry chase around the Weyr she would show that she was a good dragoness and make them earn her by chasing well. Death was interesting in that he was indeed chasing her she may choose him because of that. He was interesting so was Violet and Leninth was a very interesting dragon and she may choose him for now she would fly with all her strength to prove her worth.
