This is only my second forum that I've ever joined, but I am interested and while I've read everything given I'm a bit confused about the timeline?

What's the date/year right at this moment? It says 1719 on the side, but some of the history pages go as far as 1720?

Maybe it's just my lack of sleep talking, or I'm just genuinely not understanding this.

With that said, what year would my character be born if I was for example in the process of making a twelve-year old kid?

The historical information is for a wider time period, in order to get an idea of perspective. When we get to 1720, I might add some more relevant details further (but what historical details are really relevant after the war ends in 1720? :P)
