General appearance: His hair color is brown and a bit hazel like, his eyes are greenish gray. He is not particularly muscular but he has a good posture. His height is only slightly higher than average. He has not much battle wounds since he has been only in few battles (yet).His beard is always shaved.


Clothing: Navy outfit with lightly decorated coat, waistcoat, small buckled shoes, white stockings and a tricorn hat. He uses wigs only if needed and he has still his own hair often tied as ponytail.

Personality: Navy School made him know his place and he obeys orders without any problems. However he is not too independent and he is quite sensitive at the times. He has learned good manners and some diplomacy, still his self-esteem is not as high as it should be in order to put them fully into value. He is bit shy sometimes, especially with women, given that he had spent too much time at sea or home and too little in social environments. He does not joke much and he takes things quite seriously. He also worries sometimes. Still he is basically an optimist. He is not afraid to ask help and is often keen to offer it if he sees it fit. He is a moralist as well.

From a professional point of view, he is a responsible, reliable man and his superiors see him as trustworthy. He is often quite energetic and cheerful (but does not joke) and he is a good and careful planner. He is not remarkably brave in battles but he does his duty, liking more the sailing aspect than the fighting one of his profession. He loves France and he reveres his King; he would die for them if needed. He believes in God and prays every night, as a Catholic should do, but he likes going to church occasionally when ashore.

History:
Julien was born near Bordeaux as the second son of a nobleman. His parents' marriage was unhappy; his father was constantly cheating on his wife. He cared less about the estate and he never paid too much attention to his family, focusing on his escapades in the city, where he could party and entertain his numerous mistresses.

If he paid any attention on his children, it was directed almost exclusively to his eldest son, Alain, the family heir. While the father focused on Alain, Julien, the younger son, was the mother's apple of her eyes. She tried to compensate all her in satisfactions by coddling him, giving him a proper education but keeping him rather sheltered, therefore his father was more and more displeased by a boy clinging on his mother's apron. His mother and nurses spoke Provencal and Julien thus learned it as well as French that his father (who was from Normandy and moved to Provence, where his wife's dowry was the estate they were living on) wanted all in the family to speak.

As a child, Julien enjoyed reading and other indoor activities but he was also interested in nature. Since his brother would inherit the manor, Julien needed to find his future and fortune elsewhere. Navy school was the answer, and he was sent there at fifteen. He was a good student as he liked to study and was eager to please his superiors. But being the teachers' pet and the quiet, polite, peaceful one among rowdy lads made him the target of bullies. That naturally affected him and he became a more solitary boy, still not really independent. Naturally, as he grew older, he started to be less sensitive and to get more confidence, but this was achieved in time. While in Navy school, he liked Mathematics and Astronomy, but he was not the best student in his class - an average one with bouts of high performance at the favorite subjects.

He got his commission of lieutenant de corvette three years ago, patrolling the French seas and keeping smugglers at bay. Less than one year ago, he was sent to the Caribbean aboard "Loire". This made him dream about unknown places and putting his name on maps of yet uncharted lands, but the truth he found here was different. Following the fights against the pirates, he got promoted as second lieutenant aboard "Le Phenix", the French flagship. Will he accomplish any of his dreams?

Weapon Skills: He can use his sword skillfully (but he prefer not to use it if not truly necessary). He has a pair of fine silver engraved pistols. They are the only gift his father has ever given to Julien. Julien is not a very good shooter with handguns.
