Stuart is the adopted son of Reese and Liza. Bailey has come to take him back. How will Reese and Liza handle it? ------------------------------
“How could you do this to me?” Reese screamed as she looked at the redhead in front of her.
“To you? What about me? I love that little boy as much as you do. I’m suffering just as much as you are,” Liza told Reese as she looked into her light mocha eyes.
“Did you not at least look to make sure the adoption was legal? You’re a lawyer, your supposed to look out for these types of things.”
“I did check and everything was how it was supposed to be. How was I supposed to know that Bailey had six months to reconsider?”
“First Gaby, and now Stuart. Could you not have at least told me that this was at least a possibility?” Reese asked as she looked at the woman she loved. It was killing her inside to think that she might lose another child.
“I didn’t know either. There was nothing in the adoption papers stating this. I’m hurting just as much as you are,” Liza said as she looked over at the woman that held her heart.
“Then why aren’t you showing it? Why am I the only one crying for our son?” Reese asked as a few tears fell from her eyes.
“I am, on the inside. I know I have to be strong for you and for Stuart. We can fight this,” Liza said as she pulled Reese into her arms. “We can fight Bailey and keep Stuart.”
“But what if Bailey wins? I can’t handle losing another child.”
“Bailey won’t win. I’ll do whatever I can to keep our son.”
“But she’s his birth mother. Doesn’t she at least have a chance?” Reese asked.
“I’m not going to lie to you, she does have a chance. But so do we. There was nothing in those legal papers that said Bailey could reconsider her decision so we can use that,” Liza told her.
“Liza, I don’t want to lose him,” Reese said softly as she looked at Liza.
“I don’t want to lose him either. I’ll do everything I possibly can to make sure we get to keep our son,” Liza promised her. Reese looked up at her, believing every word she said.
