Jasper sat in one of the empty rooms. Sometimes it was good to be alone. Too much interaction with people usually made him uncomfortable. His eyes gleamed as he leaned back in the chair he was sitting in. He was quite unpleasent to be around at this moment and anyone who walked through his door would probably be sorry they had entered . When his temper was hott, it was almost impossiable to control. He had to admit, when he lost control like this, it was so much easier to run away from everyone.
Jasper sat pondering what to do next. He did not really feel like going anywhere, of course if he went into the city he could play around with people. It was always funny how people seemed to believe his good guy act so easily. His greatest weapon was his charm. Everytime he batted his long eyelashes he could get anything he wanted, sometimes a meal out of a stupid human who he agreed to take home for a little fun. Of course, his fun was tormenting and eventually eating them but they just assumed he meant something else. He turned to the window and sighed. As he stared out the window, he looked for people coming his way. People watching was always fun for him and he never got caught doing it. Jasper layed his head down on the desk and tryed to ease the throbbing pain in his head.

The nightmare haunted, stalking her like its prey. Every night into which slept had come naturally, not induced by the intoxicating fumes of drugs or the sensational taste of alcohol, the dream prowled through the shadows until it ebbed its way into her brain, images projecting against the back of her eyelids as if watching some sort of movie. It started out the same – feeding. In this dream, she was not the wolf that she looked like in real life. While Danica normally looked gray, in the figment of her imagination, the coat was as white as snow in the winter, but blood soaked the stray fibers heavily where as a black mark began to form at her neck, causing such burning pain, that would eventually leave a horrid red rash that felt like skin had just caught fire. Then, for no apparent reason, the dream wolf takes off running through a never ending obstacle course through the forest, up into some mountains, until it reaches the ocean and starts drowning in the water. The soul soon lifts out of the body as nothing but black smoke that ends up floating into some human body. The body starts to seize, falls to the ground, and blood starts coming from the pores in her face.
Eyes flashed open, the orbs falling back into her skull where nothing but white shown for eyes. The way her heart beat sped up as rapidly as a hummingbird’s wings made that wicked pounding noise echo and boom into her head. Literally, it felt similar to the feeling of the brain pulsating inside the skull, or so imagined anyway. The blankets that had formally been pulled across the expanse of the bed were twisted around her bare legs in so many confused twists and turns it was much akin to a pretzel. There was no way for her to be sure, but whenever the body began to seize, it felt very familiar to the feeling of her own body beginning to seize. Each and every one of the vertebrae felt pierced and prodded with pure electricity. Zeus had come down and shoved a lightning bolt right through Dani’s pretty little body; at least that was the feeling. The rash had already propped up along the porcelain skin; making the two totally different shades stand out. Unfortunately it just made the rash look even red and more inflamed. It itched like a mother, but itching it would only make it hurt worse.
Her whole body trembled involuntarily as she got up, stumbling doing so. The room was constricting her and it felt that soon suffocation would bestow itself. Grabbing the pack of lights and lighter from the tableside, she practically fell out of her room into the hallway, gasping for air as if she hadn’t been able to breathe, falling to the floor, crawling up to the wall, back against it looking out almost blankly. Out there, she wrestled with the cigarette pack, sticking one of the sticks into her lips, lighting it with just as many trembles as before. Taking an extra long drag, the drug swarmed through her lungs and it barely soothed her. Go figure, the one thing that did the trick was managing to be a little bitch about trying to calm her nerves. Still, Danica puffed at the cigarette, trembling, hand running through the loose, blonde, black, and red hair that was all snarled. It didn’t even phase her she was in nothing more than her black underwear and a tight white t-shirt that had holes cut out of it, one at her chest, some at her back, one at her stomach, and some at her sides. Smacking her head against the wall, she was reminded why drinking and drugs were nice to put her to sleep at night.

Jasper looked up from the table as his ears perked at the noise outside. Someone was in the hallway, it was definately one of his own. His head ached and he wondered who would be out there. The pounding in his head made him ache everywhere and he could barely move. He felt powerless but he had to go see who the person was who disturbed his peace and quiet.
Jasper leaped out of the chair he was sitting in. It took a great deal of power to even get up but once he was up the pounding stopped. His anger was under control because it was over powered by the erge to see who was in the hall. He stepped to the door and could smell smoke. He heard gasping as if the person behind the door was being strangled. It was a female, but Jasper knew instantly who it was by the smell. It was Danica. He turned the door handle and it creaked as he pushed the door open.
There she was, sitting there shaking. Jasper rushed to her side. She looked sheet white as she puffed on her smoke. He circled her like he was ready to attack. He stared down at her with curiosty and paced circles around her. He was trying to get a read on her weakness right now. He eyed her up from every point of view and he had a stern look on his face. He usually used this face and the pacing to show his authority as Alpha. It normally intimadated anyone who crossed his path. He looked down at her with his stern look and pursed his lips at her. His fury was gone but he was not happy. He gave her a glance that said "what happen" and knelt down beside her.

Drinking and drugs were the enforcers of a safe nights sleep, at least mentally anyway. Yet, she’d rather have a nice nights sleep mentally over anything physically. There were nights where she was passed out, or almost nearly as gone, and men would take advantage of her. Nothing horribly bad, a good grope, a body shot, or a really good grope. Yes, she’d take grubby manhandling in her sleep then that nightmare. On the rare occasion that her mind went to sleep naturally, it happened, creeping into imagination ready to prowl and harm. It usually happened about once or twice a week since a high or a buzz usually lulled her to sleep, or more like a state of unconsciousness. This dream was just a more excellent reason into which Dani could tip back the drinks, snort up the powder, or inhale the marijuana. That was all she’d stick to, nothing else. There had to be some sort of sign into it like making signals out of smoke rings. Something was there, but what did it mean? Was something going to happen that was being precognitive in a mind of somebody that was only good in the realms of sex, drugs, booze, and rock n roll? Whatever it was, it was putting a real cramp in sleeping. She was beginning to fear it.
She couldn’t smell nothing but smoke, but then again there wasn’t a rational moment in her life where she thought that somebody else might be around. As soon as the door opened, his smell wafted up through the smoke settling inside her nose. Her stomach clenched up, feeling repulsed, but not from the dream, not from being half naked, it was from being found in such a state by his Alphaness. Anybody else it wouldn’t have bothered her as much, or at all in fact, she’d simply sneer at them, tell them to go do a vulgar act in a very vulgar manner, and stalk off to some dark location. With Jasper, it was harder. Even though she had lost respect for herself and those around her, he was possibly one of few that earned Dani’s less sarcastic tongue. With her luck, he’d probably be stalking around now keeping an eye on her just for the hell of it, and because he knew it’d just piss her off. What was it with the men in that pack? They were all kinds of fucked up, but that go for herself as well, just not of the male gender. That had been the story of her life early on. Damn father with nothing more in mind after his wife died then sex, drugs, booze, and rock n roll…well that sounded quite familiar.
The urge to growl presented itself, but it kept quite as her hands covered hazy eyes, as if that would shield the rest of her trembling body. At least breathing normally had come back after a few minutes. Spaces in between slender, pale fingers allowed her to look out at the wall in front of her, not him. Why couldn’t he just go away! Running her tongue over the very sharp, prominent canines, she took the hand with the cigarette away and put it out on the floor. It wasn’t helping and it seemed like work having to puff it in. Returning the hand to where it started, she closed her eyes as her head hung low. It was a first in awhile that there were no extras around her – no necklaces, no rings on her fingers, no rings in nose, ears, or lip, and no bracelets crawling up the flesh. She almost looked…normal without all of the extra frills. ”Bad dream, okay? You can go now,” Danica said bitterly. Every day it felt like somebody was breathing down her neck, in different ways of course, but this just made her completely irritable. Never did the thought that Jasper might be in a bad mood also cross the selfish mind.

He looked at her and she looked so digusted with him. It was because she was sitting there, looking like hell, in front of him. Jasper couldn't quite figure out why his pack thought that being caught with a sign of weakness or being caught high or wasted by him was such a bad thing. He did it too. Maybe it was the fact he had earned so much respect and they were so loyal to him. Perhaps it was his mood changes and his distance from the pack but whatever the reason, Jasper didn't understand it.
Jasper remained crouching beside her. He couldn't look striaght into her eyes because they were so hazy. Dani answered his questioning look with a rather rude tone to it. Jasper knew it was a bad dream before she even answered but he wanted to see if she was willing to talk about it. Dreams were such mysterious thing to Jasper because he didn't understand where they came from. He always dreamed in his wolf form so it was always pretty straight forward. Someone once told him that dreams helped you work things out, kind of like a therapist. Of course, Jasper never really believed that but if it was true, Danica needed to dream. She hardly ever slept naturally and Jasper always worried about her. He always though of her kind of like a sister. It was usually up to him to try and take care of her.
Jasper did not move even when she said he could go. He was not in a good mood either and would not be talked to this way. Instead of yelling, which he hardly ever did, Jasper simply made his smooth, charming voice sound like a growl. He tapped into his wolf side to change his voice so he wouldn't get angry as easily. "No," his gruff voice said, insistingly. "There is obviousally something wrong Danica. Look at you! I can smell your fear. You my dear are not afraid of much, so its gotta be something big to spook you," he growled with the anger blazing in his eyes. He would not back down until she talked and he was prepared to sit there all night because he was well, stubborn like that. He lit a smoke from his pocket and glared at her. It could be awhile until she said something.

Why did he have to stick around and be a good leader? Maybe that why some where inside of her there was a small crush on the guy? It wasn’t the good looks, they were charming and all, but nothing movie star quality (=D). There was something about him that could be so kind even though those teeth had ripped into a human more often then not. Then again, perhaps she was just naïve. It was possible that Jasper was horrid man that didn’t care about anything or anybody else, contrary to the way he seemed to act, at least to her. What if he was just their leader to use them as pawns in some sort of bigger picture? Fully ridiculous that sounded, but those were the thoughts of somebody whose brain had been rotting away due to the side effects of illegal drugs and cheap drinks. Was it just a small affectionate thing to the person who was one that took interest that tried to protect her? It was the only thing she had of important to give. Not her mind, that didn’t exist, and certainly not her body since more people had been on that then a carnival ride. She barely even had a heart, it had been removed and broken into a billion different pieces sprinkled everywhere. The few that were left were feebly put back together with low quality glue that was just waiting for destruction, one more person to leave her. There was a daddy/mommy complex in there somewhere, but it didn’t make it untrue.
When he growled, it almost started her. Come on, she had just been through something traumatic, did he have to go around scaring and caring her like that? Obviously something wrong? Well wasn’t that just redundant? Did he figure that out with the late nights, the too many loves, the way her breath smelt of alcohol, the way her eyes dilated from the power and dope, the way her clothes smelt of cigarette smoke, or the way her self destruction usually led to a bitchy attitude that would only change to something much more emotional that involved tears into her pillow? Yes, she cried a lot when not under the influence. Big deal. She was tough, but there were moments when Danica needed the pain of what she was feeling seep through into the open. Of course there was fear! When one went into traumatic fits there would be fear! Send a raging bullet through the skull, there would be a small amount of fear for wondering if it was silver, but that didn’t bother her. She craved death more than what was normal. That was the reason for the drugs, alcohol, and stupid things that she did. She didn’t have the courage to slit her own wrists or drive off of a cliff. Those thoughts scare her too, but he didn’t sense those did he?
Biting at her own tongue, more pissed off that he cared, she folded her arms over her chest, leaving her head against the walls for ember eyes to shut with both sleep and just out right confusion. ”It was a dream. Nothing more.” The rash was beginning to irritate her, so put a hand to the red, morphed patch of skin. Just merely touching it sent her into a fit of moans. It was hot, but it just hurt so horribly. Why did the rash form during this? Was something possessing her body without her knowing it? The smoke he let out didn’t calm her either. Secondhand usually did the trick, but not this time. ”Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.” It was a complete and utter lie, but she just wanted him to go away. It was embarrassing to feel such things toward him. What would people say? He seemed to be the knight in shining armor, but Jasper wasn’t even doing anything but pay attention to her. That was something she craved, but nothing to that stance of which he was doing. Damn him.

He could see it in her eyes that he had startled her. He hated seeing her like this. He hated seeing anyone like this because he could be so angry and show it but never yell. He hated to yell more than anything, it was a thing he tried to avoid especially, with Dani. He wished that she would stop fighting him, eventually she would give in, at least he hoped. There was sometimes that he worried too much about her and he couldn't help but think only about her. It was selfish to only think about someone he crushed on but sometimes he would just let everything go and only care for her. He hated having so many mixed feelings about her and so many questions he longed to ask. He had so many other things he longed to say as well, but did not intend to ever say them.
Jasper whiped the fury out of his eyes and out of his face. He sat there feeling ashamed of himself for putting fear in the one person he cared about. It was no wonder everyone in the pack sometimes questioned his leadership, he would always find a way to prove his loyalty though, but it hurt that he didn't want to be close to them sometimes. He brought the cigarett to his lips and took a drag again. As he exhaled he moved from his squat beside her, to sitting on the wall across from her. He felt tired and leaned his head back against the wall and shut his eyes. He sat there thinking about probably a million things, but only one stayed clear in his mind, her. He finally opened his eyes and started to smile a little. He looked at her and just stared.
She tried to tell him it was just a dream and that she was fine but Jasper was like a radar, he could see she was so pissed off, what he didn't know, probably him. He could also see the rash, red and sore, on her arm, but he decided that he wouldn't worry about that now. If she wanted to explain, Jasper couldn't make her. He gave into her request and hopeful she would tell him on her own time. Even though he could see right through her lie, he had let it go because she obviousally was not going to tell him. She was probably more stubborn than he was. He finished his cigarrett and through it into the doorway from which he had just came. "Alright I'll let it go for now, but I don't want you thinking that you won, because I eventually will get it out of you," he said cracking a smile. It always kind of hurt to smile because his face, most of the time was serious. It was just so hard to do anything else around Danica, she brought out his better side, the side he had lost long ago.
He put his head back against the wall again and shut his eyes, he was so tired. The thought of sleep disgusted him right now. He would not want to do anything other than just sit there and talk to her. The rage he felt before was cooled and he was so content now. His instinct to say something was there but there was nothing he could think of to say at the moment. He looked like a damn fool sitting there smiling as she looked so pissed at him. He was such a damn fool because he let her in so easily and he couldn't just turn around and leave her alone because he cared. He sighed, repulsed by himself, and continued to look at her. He crossed his eyes and stuck out his tongue, like a little kid, and tried to make her laugh. It was so easy to be carefree with her. Damn her, damn her.

It was difficult to tell if Jasper had been mad beforehand, mad at her, or mad at just something in general that was running through his mind. Oh, crap, did he know? Could he sense it on her? That she had the weakest of feelings for him? No, that was impossible. She could cloak it easily with booze and drugs. Her heart didn’t skip a beat; she had control of that too. It was just that…his emotions seemed different around her. Maybe she read too much into it, ok, maybe a lot, but it still pondered around in her head from time to time. That is until Dani quickly shook those thoughts from that silly imagination. There was no reason to be thinking of such thoughts about their leader. If he were to choose a significant other, it’d be likely he’d choose somebody far more better for such a position, definitely not the girl that got her kicks inhaling a joint as fast as possible. Or there’d be an all out brawl from the females of the pack. He was quite a catch, but many of them would probably just want the power. Like they say, behind every famous man is a woman telling him what to do. Somebody with more intelligence and self-confidence would be better for their pack’s mate. But why the fuck was that thought crossing her mind. Stupid, stupid brain! She yelled at herself.
Her mind had been in too much of a bramble that she hadn’t realized that he had taken to move across the hall from her. Carefully lifting up ember slits, they watched him carefully in the small cloak of darkness that embodied the hallway. It was rather fun watching Jasper really. He was powerful in so many ways that just the way he moved seemed rough, yet elegant, and he could be serious, yet a little carefree. In actually, he seemed a lot like her, but she wouldn’t admit that since she only saw herself as a tragic car accident. Bringing her head up and away from the wall Danica returned the smile. ”Me? Won? I wouldn’t let such a thing go to my head.” If that wasn’t sarcasm, then she didn’t know what was. ”Besides, you always manage to find out one way or another.” Well that statement gave her chills. If he always found out, wouldn’t it just be a matter of time before…well…he found out? It was like a freaking game of tug of war between two three-ton elephants going on inside her mind. Wow, she really did need to lay off the drugs.
Returning the pretty little head back up against the wall, hands wiped down her face as if cleansing it with imaginary water. No makeup shielded her and she almost felt naked, metaphorically anyway since there was one shirt away from nearly being that. The rash at her chest still hurt, but it was better to focus on this kind of pain then the action of ping-pong’s ‘does he like me, does he not’ game going on. Damn him, his charm, and exceptionally grand personality. Jasper’s smile was bright and radiant, even when it was imagined, but peeking open an eye, there it was. A smile hid underneath the surface for Danica, he looked like a damned fool, but looked so good doing it at the same time. It was rather amusing. What was even more amusing was when his eyes crossed and out came his tongue. A smiled carved itself on those pretty pink lips and a chuckle sweet as honey rolled out into the air much like the smoke ebbing through the air. Despite how childish it was, it made her feel better. Why did he do that? No matter, she returned the gesture by sticking out her tongue as well. Whatever inspired her to do that was lost out at sea. Damn him.

He hated to sit there and watch her think. He always had trouble understanding her than anyone else. Oh no! Did she know? Was it possiable that she knew his feelings towards her? Humm, it would be a little more obvious wouldn't it? He would never understand females but he did understand feelings. If she knew his feelings towards him, this room would be very ackward to be in. She definately didn't know. He hoped that the pack wouldn't find out either. There had always been a fight to be his mate until he announced that he was going to be the one to decide who he liked, not someone else. Things got very quiet around the cove then because no one wanted to piss him off by telling him why they were perfect for him, half of them only liked him for the fame anyways. Personally, he felt that a mate is someone you should actually like!
He looked around the hallway, there was no one in site. "Me? Won? I wouldn’t let such a thing go to my head," her sweet voice replyed with almost too much sarcasm. Then she commented how he always managed to find out anyway. It was true that he did find out what he wanted to. Somehow he always managed to worm information out of everyone. It was more like a skill than just luck. If something was going on Jasper would always know before most of them.
Jasper felt so strange now. It was so hard to think of something to say. He played with his hair a little and then turned to look at her again. She really did look quite pretty without makeup and when she wasn't stoned. He loved to look at her pretty face. It was so clean and pure when she didn't smear on her makeup and didn't spark something up. She returned his funny face. She stuck out her tongue aswell. A smile even bigger than the one before cracked on his face and he let out another laugh. God! get a hold of yourself he thought to himself. It was not the animal taking over like when he ment an attractive female. NO, it was him. The person who he had supressed many years ago. The weakness that was gone but came flooding back at the site of her. Why did he have to be so... so stupid. It was hard for him to be the leader around her. The leader that everyone knew, he was Jasper, the guy. Jasper the wolf, was tough and angry. Jasper the guy, was sweet and weak. He did not want that to resurface.

The dream was starting to move away from the presence of her mind like wisps of cigarette smoke like Jasper released from his lips. It left quicker then usual. The majority of the times it stuck around in each and every crevice, just waiting for the right time to strike again. Yet, it probably stuck around because she usually ingested illegal substances and drank too fast. When the dream already happened, sleep rarely happened again that night, no matter how high or drunk she got. That usually just made things worse, that horrible dream clinging onto her soul like a leech. Still, she didn’t learn for each and every time she put herself through more and more torture. Danica couldn’t help but think that this wretched memory was fleeting because of the somewhat heroic leader that had stuck around with her. Certainly if he wasn’t there, she’d be already as high as a kite, crying wholesomely into her pillow or shagging in some bathroom stall just to pass the time and take her mind away from it, at least more so then normal. She was putting him in shining armor just for being there, which made her feel pathetic. But the sign seemed clear: dream plus Jasper equaled not so horrible night. It was probable now that any guy she’d ever finally getting around to dating a whole hundred years later would be compared to him. Stupid compassionate leader.
He looked almost a little uncomfortable sitting there, the way he played with his hair. Why was she noticing this! Damn, maybe getting stoned would have been better off. At least he perked up a little when she made that too stupid face. His laugh made her smile. It just made her feel all the more better even though anybody’s laughter would be well welcomed, in the right matter that was. If they were laughing at her for their entertainment, the way they’d laugh if she fell down the stairs, then it would have been rudely countered with some sort of bitchy remark or a knee to the groin. Even though Jasper was laughing at her, in a way, it was welcomed since that had been her intention. He was laughing with her, not at her. Her trembling had stop, which was a nice change since it didn’t feel like there was a minor earthquake going on and only to her. Besides, Dani wouldn’t have been able to handle it if somebody else had come up there and saw her. Rest of them would have laughed at her or turned around to walk away, leaving her there, shuddering on the ground, except for Vincent that was. All of them knew how much she was messed so would probably think it was a natural occurrence, which it was, but a lot more serious. They’d gladly step over her shaking body for a piece of gum. They could all screw themselves because she didn’t need them anyway.
Closing her eyes again, head back against the wall yet again she spoke. ”Thanks, Jasper. And don’t ask me for what, I don’t know.” There was an inkling feeling that she should have thanked him for something, rather it was for being there or a great leader or something. He could take it in whatever way he wanted to. Soon, she ‘fell’ over so that she could lie on her side, bringing her knees as close to her chest as possible. She was so tired, emotionally, mentally, physically, and just…every way. Sleep would be great, but Danica doubted it’d come to her. It rarely did. Maybe if Jasper just sat there, she might have been able to fall asleep right there. She didn’t care about getting dirty or what things were crawling down there. They were probably cleaner then she even was. She felt numb again. Anybody could do anything they wanted and she wouldn’t respond because she wouldn’t be able to feel it. This was a feeling she didn’t like because drugs or booze didn’t induce it. How in hell had she gotten to where she was in life? She’d never change, but it was a question worth asking herself there on the dirty floor, half-naked, and with a rash from a dream. Life was a bitch, just like Dani.

Jasper could tell that her pain was easing away. Whatever had startled her before was almost gone. Maybe it was because a fearless pack leader was there or maybe it was because it didnt bother her, he couldn't tell. He somehow hoped it was him though, somewhere deep down. Jasper was aware that if this had been any other night for Dani, that she would probably be high or drunk somewhere. He was glad that he was hear for her. He was glad that he was there and some creep who would take advantage of the situation wasn't.
Sitting there with her made Jasper feel uncomfortable. It wasn't like he was with most females, of any race. He usually tried to get something out of them, usually sex but he didnt want that from her. It was strange because he really never liked anyone this way. Normally, around anyone of the female gender, Jasper would be chraming and seductive. That was not how he was around her, he did not want the same thing. He just didnt know how to be or how to act. It was oh so confusing to him. Why couldn't he read minds!
”Thanks, Jasper. And don’t ask me for what, I don’t know.” Odd. Why was she thanking him? He obviousally couldn't ask her because she didnt know herself! "Ummm your welcome," he said a little strangely. He scratched his neck and then something happend to him. It was so fast he didn't even realize he did it. He was in front of her now and he was kissing her. What an idiot! he thought to himself. You dumb fuck why would you do that? He pulled back and looked a little embaressed. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." he couldn't even finish the sentence. This was one of the worst things he ever had. What if she didn't feel the way he did?

Smell was something that occurred naturally with a wolf. One inhaled and there it was rather you liked it or not. It happened with humans, but so much more with a wolf. Right then, she couldn’t smell a thing except for Jasper. He smelt in so many different ways; sweet and pungent and bone chilling. It was a wonderful smell, to be honest, much better then many things that had wafted up through her nose before: trash, pot smoke, and horrible smells such as puke and urinals. She got around, in more ways then one, and her nose had been on one hell of a roller coaster ride through time. Unfortunately, it had probably been a nose that had smelt all of the horrid smells that life had to offer. The even worse thing was, there were some of those that Dani found incredibly amazing to sniff. There was just something about sewers and death and even dirt that were unforgivably attractive to her that the good smelling things such as citrus and rain weren’t so tantalizing anymore. It had been quite awhile in deed since the smell or citrus passed through her olfactory nerve. Jasper smelt of dirt, cologne, and even a hint of death. It was like coke, she could inhale it forever, but he’d probably find that a little weird, not like that was anything different for her.
Just by the tone of his voice, he was kind of confused by her thanking him. Yeah, well, what else could she have possibly said to her leader whom she had the slightest of crushes on? ‘Oh, hey, by the way, I just happen to like you the littlest of bits, but you don’t have to say anything because I’m unnaturally freaky and easy. It’s okay, you don’t know where I’ve been, which is almost everywhere.’ That would have worked out famously, wouldn’t it have? He could have looked at her like she was insane, even more so, and then go off in the other direction laughing. Hmph! She knew men; they’d ride her like their car and then just ditch it on the side of the road. Then again, it was safe to say he was no ordinary guy. He might have done a lot of the same things she did; drugs, booze, other people, but he was different all the way around. He was charming and had moments of elegance. Ha! Danica didn’t even have a small portion of that! She was, in simple terms, a coke whore. She’d be better off somebody just put a whole cartridge of silver bullets right in her temple to put the wolf girl out of her fucking misery. But death scared her, so never would she willingly do that. For a girl that craved death, she was very much afraid of it.
Leaning forward a little, ember eyes glazed over looking upon the floor just staring as if it were completely fascinating. But then something happened that she never would have imagined no matter how high she was: he kissed her, right on the lips. Oh, shit! She was so unresponsive, just so surprised that he had done it. He was probably better off kissing a dead fish, but secretly she was glad it was she he was kissing. All of a sudden, her mouth felt dry and that there was a frog hidden in her throat. Good heavens, she was feeling like a high school girl. Where was a sword she could impale herself on? For being such a vixen, Danica sure picked a good time to act like a fool. He pulled away and apologized. Did Jasper regret it? Shaking her head, as if that might help their situation, she looked at his nose. It would look like she was looking at him, but not so much full eye-to-eye contact. ”I-It’s all right. I didn’t…mind. It was great.” Maybe she would have been better off silent then acknowledging that what he’d done she’d enjoy. But then wouldn’t he just think that was what she said to anybody that touched her? For wanting to jump up and running away, she was doing a failed attempt.

Why did he do that? Was it fate or pure stupidity, he did not know. He hung his head afraid of what he had done. ”I-It’s all right. I didn’t…mind. It was great.” He perked his head up a little. Did she feel the same way? Was it possiable she had a tiny crush on him? He looked her in the eyes and he could see that she thought she was maybe dreaming. What he had just done was maybe something she longed for him to do. Maybe what he had done was a good thing.
He looked her in the eyes but then he turned away again. Now things were even more ackward than ever. All he could muster up to say was "Now you know." He looked at his feet. He hoped and prayed that he wouldn't have to explain to her what he meant. After the kiss it should have been obvious. Her taste still lingered on his lips as he looked at the floor. He licked them and placed his hands on his lap. His eyelids were heavy and he was a funny bright pink color. He was blushing so bad and behinde the blush he was sheet white. How was it he was so digusted with himself. Why did he have to have these feelings?

Her heart was going a million miles an hour. It felt like the speed of light and at any moment it was just going to beat itself out of her chest. It was a horrible feeling, yet not. Was this what it felt like to have a heart attack or stroke or just anything? It was frightening. It never went this fast before. It couldn’t have been good for her fragile body, as well as the booze and drugs, but that was a different story. The craziest urge to run off and cry was insane. There wasn’t any reason to bawl her bloody eyes out. It was just an urge, rather induced by the dream, hormones, or for whatever reason else was a whole different question indeed. Why fucking him? Why not some bum out on the street? Why the leader of her pack? Fuck fate! If this was what it was like to feel…feelings toward a person, then it sucked. Dani felt that she would have been way better off had she just stayed away from the main domain of the pack, but there wasn’t any place out that made her feel safe like this place. The world could be a terrifying place, and she might not have admit it, but it terrified her. People would do things to her, that much was certain, but here…it just seemed like the horrible people couldn’t get at her, that maybe, for just the briefest of moments, she was a person. She was never happy, never was, never would, and it was something that she’d accepted. What could she even have done to change it?
Now she knew, but was that better or worse? Something might have progressed onward between them, but there’d always be that strain on both of them – royalty and trash being together. It just wasn’t so. Fights would most definitely ensue that would surely lead in pain. Wouldn’t happiness also come with the bad? They both would have been able to keep their feelings in and go on about their lives with just a unique friendship. Admitting it…it felt like a form of suicide. There was such internal pain that it was excruciating to even look at him. How could somebody so charming, elegant, amazing, and just freaking great find a piece of trash like her extraordinary? Forever in those ember eyes would she find herself nothing below scum? Danica knew the things that she had done, and some of them weren’t her best moments, so how could anybody ever manage to enjoy those flaws? Those weren’t flaws those were just several layers of fucked up. She would just be a mistake for him; she should have put him out of his misery. People would look at them differently, not that their opinion mattered to all that much to her. This was the most she had thought about anything that wasn’t drug induced.
Glancing at Jasper, not saying anything for a little bit, he just looked so sad. It made her heart ache. He shouldn’t be feeling that towards her, especially her. A hooker would have been better, but that was just she putting herself down again. Nobody had earned her respect, why should she give it to herself? Mind? That had been lost long ago, so instinct took over. Slowly crawling over to him, she settled on her knees, just watching him, uncertain of what the hell she was doing. Leaning forward, eyes remaining as close to his as possible, her lips softly touched his, kissing him as gently as ever, at least for Dani that was. She didn’t pull away right away, indulging herself in this guilty pleasure. Moving away, she sat on her legs, hands in her lap, fingers digging at another one’s cuticles or chipping off the police, not making any more eye contact with Jasper. Gaining up a voice, a meek, vulnerable one, she spoke. ”Now you know.” All of this seemed to happen so quickly in mind, body, and soul, but it felt like she wasn’t really doing this at all, just having an out of body experience. It had been her in her most vulnerable state – herself.

He watched her thinking to herself for awhile. He couldnt bear to look anymore. He hoped that she wasnt thinking of him right now because he couldn't handle another heartbreak. Heartbreak, the story of his life. First his fiance, standing him up at his own wedding because of what he was born as, a werewolf. He had been stupid and let her in and now he let Danica in too fast for his liking. If she thought of him just as a leader, Jasper knew it would lead to maybe another heartache for him. He never really cared about anyone.
It was not until she stopped thinking and stared looking at him that Jasper actually tensed. The whole situation was uncomfortable, he felt like his heart was on fire. Except his heart felt as if it was beating in his throat. There was definately no explaination for what he was feeling. It made him feel replused at himself and repulsed to be sitting there. Then Dani started to move closer to him. She sat there next to him, on her knees, and stared into his eyes. She leaned in and she was kissing him now! He kissed back, as hers was longer than the one he gave her and when she pulled back it looked like she was trying to muster a voice. ”Now you know.” she said meekly. It was the actual Dani saying it, the one he hardly saw.
As she spoke, Jasper continued to look at her with a baffled expression. His eyes were glassy and understanding. He never figured she felt the same way. It was the ultimate feeling for him. Suddenly, his hands moved to her face. He held her face there and looked into her eyes. Now, he kissed her again. This time he didn't let go. He was ceartain that this was the right move to make. He kept his lips to hers and waited to pull back again.
