welcome to bad body double. housed here is all the basic information on the forum. the admins have bustled about for ages, putting together a basic place to find any and all information you need before you join. here, you'll find the rules of the forum, as well as to registration and characters. the plot, which has been painstakingly written out by yours truly, is housed snugly within the confines of this forum. and, finally, credit is given where credit is due, so be sure to thank those people and give them a nice, firm, hearty pat on the back.

when administrators have something to say, or there's a new development in the plot, they'll be posted here. announcements are fickle things-- make sure to read them carefully. activity checks, those useful things, will also be found here. make sure to pounce on those. seriously. nothing's more frustrating than an absent character!

we all know what these are. these are those brilliant wanted ad pages that everyone flocks to immediately. anyway, they're separated by gender, and we don't roll with the colored plot pages. those are like, from 2008. this is 2050, after all.

if you need a character for a certain plot, post here, and only post ONE topic at a time. that is, if you absolutely need a lover, some family members, a sworn enemy... anything along that line should be put here. once your request has been filled, contact an admin so it doesn't get too cluttered in here.

any sort of communication can be found here. phone, instant messaging, even snail mail, for christ's sake. just don't spam here without actually having some sort of meaningful thread. somewhere. or we'll find you. we will.

new path institute is the leading manufacturer of replicants, and the main area where rogues are brought and upgraded. the employer of most of new york's scientists, new path pioneered a vaccine for marburg virus in early 2030, as well. not necessarily open for tours, civilians are allowed in when a loved one works, and some rogues occasionally come in to release new replicants and to 'educate' them.

unfortunately for some, the hospital is inevitable. some people die here, some people give birth, and in all, the nurses and doctors are severely underpaid and under-appreciated. every once in a while, a case of marburg will come back through, causing the entire hospital to go on another lock-down. otherwise, some are born here, some die here, but all come through here at some point or another for menial vaccines.

located in the heart of manhattan, central park is still kept up by a team of replicants, for the most part. it's dangerous to move around there after dark, and children are no longer allowed inside. it's a bit grittier than most remember it, with a lot more street-walkers and prostitutes hanging around,

things around downtown have changed considerably. neon signs have made a comeback, and it's a lot less family-friendly than it's been in the past. the streets light up after eight o'clock in the evening, though it's pretty dangerous to walk around on your own. there's a few nightclubs and diners, and, if you're lucky, a five-star restaurant will still be in commission, depending on building codes.

whether you like it or not, new york city has its government workers. all the police officers and special operatives work out of here, though most go to new path in order to monitor the replicants and the work of the scientists. government agents are highly trained and specialized in what they do, and not to be fucked with. you would be ill-advised to come here and waste their time, or come here without a summons or invitation.

still a metropolitan city, new york retained the sprawling systems of transportation with some major upgrades. the passes are relatively cheap for civilians, though some rogues know how to duck the system and get their way onto the air rail or the taxis.

everyone needs somewhere to live, you know. make sure to claim somewhere, so your group can have their own forum. have fun, but make sure to lock your damn door when you get in.

if there's something you want to roleplay that took place in the past, well, here's the forum. anything previous to 2050 needs to be placed right in here-- have fun, and remember to floor it to eighty-eight and check the flux capacitor.

okay, so every once in a while, you come up with a pretty epic plot that comes some time in the future, rather than in the current timeline. therefore, this forum exists to meet your future needs! go nuts. just bring back the chernobly so the past is reachable.
