FAQs(or matters of importance that must be addressed, and so addressed here in Q&A form.)
there is an amatures theme thing. What's appropriate, and what's not? There will be people of a larger age range than if this was simply a kids or teenage forum, because anyone can be an amature. It must be kid friendly. That means:
No excessive swearing. If you swear excessively, we will edit your posts, and warn you. If you swear at us after that, there's going to be trouble, you can bet your britches on it.
Nothing that InvisionFree considers inappropriate. Read the Terms of Service. They look cool and the print isn't too small. I'm sure you'll all get by ten minutes of LAW. If you fail to abide by that, there will be consequences. Many of it is common sense.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING PORNOGRAPHIC! If we see anything like that, there will be rather large consequences, like bannings big. If we tell you that you are being inappropriate, and you continue, we can, and will, ban you forever. We can do that, you know. As for hesitating to ban, I know that I won't.
As for what is, good grammer, scenes of not too graphic violence (think, would you show this to your sister?) and if there is any sexual scene, make it implied. Those of us who are old enough to get it will, and those of us who are too young to get it will be unscathed and happier for it.
I don't know, txting my BFF Jill! What the hell? I didn't get a word of that. This is a writing forum: make it sound like one by using proper grammer. This is a board of smart people. It should sound smart. (Though it doesn't have to sound pompous.

) We really don't want to warn you - but that's if you use it too much.
So, the help lines. What's appropriate?Terms of Service, my friend, Terms of Service.
I'm a poet! What about poetry, the finest of fine arts?!Chillax, man! Poetry is great; I love poetry and songwriting personally. There will be places for you to post your work, if there aren't already. If not, post in stories, saying that I (Gravity) sent you there because there is no poetry or music hub. I don't think that anyone would have a problem with that. Once there is a poetry/music hub, we will just move it into the proper forum. EDIT: Now, if you have written something that would go in a more miscellanious category, you may post it in Stories, once again, saying that Gravity Sent you. No one can hurt you there. There is also a poetry hub.
Don't ask me what MISCELLANIOUS means. Please.
Someone approached me in a way I didn't want. What do I do?You report them, and tell us what happened. We will handle the situation. But you must tell us. If you are a child, I suggest telling your parents, too. They should know. Also, never give them personal information, especially not where you live and when you're alone. (The cyber creeps. Your parents should know all about you.) Once again, Report the incident. That person will suffer consequences.
What are consequences?I hope you mean what we'll do to you. If not, dictionary.com has every answer. And a great thesaurus.
As for what we'll do to you:
We could warn you. If you are warned, please, heed our warning, and don't do it again. We'll all be proud of you. We may even take away your warn, BUT THAT IS NOT A CLEAN SLATE. You will still have been warned. I may even record in Mircrosoft Excel, under SEVERAL DOCUMENTS. Sounds scary, right? that's the point. We see all, we know all.
We could ban you for a certain amount of time. If you fail to listen to our warnings, that is your fault, and you could be banned for a certain amount of time. I will not hesitate to ban people, no matter if you the Prime Minister of New Zealand. You'll still get banned if your offense is bad enough. If there is any porn, you're banned
Or, if you're really bad, and even a danger to this forum, it's intergrity, and it's members, we will ban you permanantly, which includes deleting your account, and having your computer(s) and email address recognized, so that you may never return again. Once again, I won't hesitate, if you are a danger to the members of this board, or hurt our integrity. I will do a lot to protect honour.
I've gotten more questions/matters of importance to be addressed.
A staff member has aproached me in a way I don't want! NOW what do I do?!
God forbid this ever happens to you. But if it does, it is even more important that you tell another staffer immediately. It is incredibly dangerous when someone who isn't a staffer aproaches you like that. It's more dangerous when a staffer does. You must tell one or more staff members, and report what has happened. We will then take care of it.
Once you have PMed one of us and reported the incident, I suggest logging off. We will email you once the incident has been handled.
What does Off-Topic Mean? That is a very good question. Off-Topic means to talk about something more general, in a section where it is not obnoxious or annoying to roam around in topic wise. That brings us to our next few questions...
What is Chit-Chat?Chit-Chat is a section where you can go and talk about stuff in general. It is a place of chat. You can talk about summer, school, summer school, writing, ect... However, here it is apropriate to stay on topic. No talking about school, then cheesecake!
Then What's Book Updates?Book Updates is where you talk about what is going on with what you are writing on, ask for advice on it, or post extra things that you have added in there. You can post parts of something, maybe not quite yet finished, but you want to test drive it, in Upcoming Projects.
Why is there an add for the KWC, but I can't advertise my site? The KWC is like our Mother Board (hahaha, internet joke.) We have every intention of becoming afiliates of the KWC once this board is six months of age, on 12/17/07. Three current admins all come from the KWC. It's special, OK?
Can I be a staffer? PLEASE?!The question is: Are you ready to handle being a staffer? As Douglas Adams said, (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Those who want to be in power are usually least suited for the job. Those who don't want the power are often the people who should be." If we feel you should be staff, and we have a staff opening, you'll get to be staff. If not, sorry.
God, you people run this place like my middle school. Do you have a no tolerance policy or somethin'?We've been to middle school too, ya know. We've also been on the internet. We may have something that seems like a no tolerance policy here. We will tolerate somethings in certain places. But this is the internet, and we don't know who you are, really, or how old you are, really. We are just trying to keep this board happy and healthy. You may be looking at these rules and regulations, and think that they are too strict or there are too many of them, but when they are in effect, you'll be happier for it.
What's this ZetaBoards thing? You know, that's a good question. It's an IF board improvement....I think. You know, I'm not really sure. When I do, I'll let you know.
Seriously, they're not bad rules. You just think that they are. If you have a question, just post it up. We'll answer it. If any staff wishes to add to this, go right ahead.
