When it was her turn Serene sent Charmer to the nook Arialis had pointed out earlier and the blue went with a cheep. He watched with curious whirling eyes as Serene approached the nest. She bowed and opened the bag of bugs she'd brought so that the parents could get to the tasty treat. Serene herself didn't like bugs but that was something to worry about another day.

She was nervous about being scrutinized by the parents but she forced herself to be calm. It wouldn't do any good to get worked up. In fact that might have the opposite affect which she didn't want.

"I hope you enjoy the bugs." she said softly to the parents as she straightened. There was a slight smile on her face as she waited.

Talise watched as another human moved to the spot that was vacated. She watched as the girl opened a small bag and set it down. She could see the bugs inside the bag and got up to investigate. Her mate joined her and they ate their fill of the bugs. She peered up at the girl again and then went back to her spot on the bed and began purring. She gave a soft bark.

There were only three babies left, and one of them, the largest of the litter, moved with a quickness that a newborn shouldn't possess at such a young age. It moved away from the last two siblings and wriggled to the edge of the bed. It lifted it's head and seemed to sniff the air to find the one thing that it knew would care for it. It's bonded was there, but where exactly? Ah, there. It climbed up the girl's leg, with some degree of difficulty.

The soft bark given by the mother made Serene smile. So she'd passed muster had she? Well that was a good thing. Charmer chirped happily from his perch as the largest of the babies came to the edge of the bed. She giggled a bit as the little creature started to climb up her leg. She carefully picked it up and cradled it as she went to get it some food.

"I'm sure you'll be beautiful when you get your plumage." she murmured as she fed the baby some porridge. Charmer vacated his perch to settle on her shoulder and chirped curiously at the new addition to their family. Serene couldn't wait to see what kind of Eichnaa she got. She thanked Arialis before heading out.

Ind'i nodded sightly towards Arialis, she might not have given the excited, bouncy yes that Raiin would have done, but she didn't yell at her. She really must have been relaxed because it was kind of a stupid question, what was she going to say? 'No, I'm just standing in your door with my older sister so we can stare at you and make you feel uncomfortable.' (Actually, Transiit and Ind'i had done that before, it was fun. They ran away screaming. And crying. Hehehehehe.)

She watched as, one by one, those before her had been accepted by the mother. Not the father, he was obviously not in charge. And a slight thread of doubt weeded its way into her mind. She'd never been able to take care of things, all her pets had either died or turned to Raiin. Rarenth was the only one that stuck by her, and he could talk, so it didn't count.

You're right, I don't count as one of your pets. You count as mine, but not the other way around.

She stepped forward into the place that the girl, with her pink, gerbil-like thing in her arms, had just vacated. Please let them accept me, please let them accept me...

Raiin, smiled brightly at Arialis. “Fingers crossed, of course.” ( I don’t think they use it on Pern, but it’s something Raiin would say.)

Arialis grinned at Raiin. She hoped that all of the babies were taken. She didn't want to end up bonding to any others. She could barely handle Talise and Xyox, most of the time.

Talise observed the next person to stand before her. Xyox obviously didn't like this person. He was hissing and yawling at Ind'i. Talise, though, would have none of his defensiveness about their babies. They needed to bond, and Talise would make sure they found suiteable bondeds, like their Arialis. Talise stood and pounced on her mate. She bit his right ear, making her point. Xyox gave a startled mewling sound of appology before settling back down, but this time, he made sure to lay behind Talise. He would behave himself now.

One of the last babies moved forward and found the edge of the large and comfortable bed quite interesting. It rolled around a bit and even tried to chew on the coverings. It became disinterested and moved again, this time finding it's way to Ind'i's feet. It wiggled a bit but couldn't climb. It finally gave up and gave a soft, yet equally shrill cry.

As the baby was making it's way to Ind'i, the last baby wasn't waiting. It moved away from Talise and found it's way to Raiin. Talise walked over to where her last baby was laying and sat down and looked up at Raiin, giving a soft purring noise. Arialis walked over and looked down at Talise. Talise seemed to be watching Raiin for a few moments and then looked up at Arialis and easily jumped up to her pet's left shoulder. Xyox on the other hand was on the floor still, watching his last baby and his mate.Something truely interesting was going on here, and both parents knew it, but Arialis was quite intrigued by such and event. She smiled at Raiin. "This has never happed with any of Talise and Xyox's babies before. Interesting, very interesting."
