Okay hey all.

Most of you dont know me some do. Im a programmer and do a little graphic work as well. Im getting a team together for City Of Illusion. Its a modern day 3rd person shooter MMORPG. I have 2 programmers working on building the engine from scratch also have another looking into it. Im currently Looking for 2 more programmers and about 3 3d modelers. Best way I can think to describe it is Grand Theft Auto Online with an rpg feel to it.

Okay some info about CoI:

There will be 3 mob families, these families each run their own city. The Mob Leaders *A real player* will give other mob members missions to do and reward them with XP and Cash.

There will be 4 cities, 1 for each mob and 1 thats a Free For All area / starting city.
Also each city will have its own police force which will be ran by players. This way the mobs can pay off the cops if they wish or not.


Features in process of adding:

Realistic Cars/bikes/planes ( maybe later add skateboarding/skateing)
Skill System
Politic System
Gambling
Player Housing
Weapons Good bit of them
Jobs ( for those that dont want to join the mob, Limo drivers ect)
Hacking (an in game internet where you can hack banks/big corporations pc and sell data you find Or transfer funds)

Other Stuff Youll like to know
all players HP will be set at 500 no more. This way if your level 88 and you go fight a level 1 you can still die just as easy. Skills will be the only thing you level up like, hand to hand combat, Pistol use, ect...

Currently for music:
1 Underground rap group thats good friends of mine
1 Rock group thats also good friends of mine.

music will be played on a radio thats in the car.

Things I need Models of:
Everything you can think of that will be in a city...
Players
Weapons

I can not do animated models like players and cars. Buildings, trees, Tv, Chairs, ect i can do.

My other programmer can do a little 3d modeling as well. TTSnim already said shell help with some of the easy stuff like buildings ect as well.

My other guy and I are both also doing the SFX for the game.

Last note: I already have people waiting to pay and play this game and its still has a lot of work before its done. Since I will be charging a small monthly fee to play I will be paying everyone that helps make it to what I think their work is worth. Also I will be selling Ad Space on the bill boards and radio stations on the game. Therefore bringing in more cash. If the game doesn't start bringing in cash though which I truly don't see why it would not. I will not be able to pay you. But since there is no 3d Mafia MMORPG out and mafia type of games are always in high demand I don't think it will be an issue making cash off it. There are also a few other things I will be doing to make cash such as well in game money on ebay. Since an admin can simply do a command to get as much money as they want.

Now if you would like to join let me know I do have a forum set up for my game company and Ill happily send you a link in a pm. The more modelers = the faster the graphics get done which comes as number 2 in the list of things to do. First get the engine running well then graphics then start mapping adding npcs missions ect.

I am also drawing out the city maps.

interesting project draken
well, I've got few questions :
-what are the 3D soft you want to use for creating the models ?
-what engine do you use ?
-do you have pictures, have you already "drawn" the city the way you want it to look like ?
I can help with modeling buildings and other "easy" stuffs on 3ds max , I would really like to learn how to program with you the game, but I have no idea what language you use for that, and how I could learn it .

It doesnt mater what you use to make the modeles as long as you export them as .3ds

And the engine Im useing is the one Im writing with a few friends. And Im still working on the maps.

Little Update

Now have 3 programmers working on it And 1 more looking into working on it.

the 1 thats looking into it is currently having some family issues so he hasn't said he will or not.


Also Im using Blitz Basic to write it. Its a very simple Language to learn and very powerful.

I have the server / client stuff about 50% done now.


I will post a small video of the current work with some Models I got offline That Im using for testing reason

Very ambitious project. Once I take a look at the general look of things as you develop, I'd have a better idea of the "style" that ought to be implemented in objects and such related to the whole scheme.

Maybe throw a few screenshots up here for us to consider?
