sorry for the double post but i'm also trying to uninstall Unreal Tournament 3 (which is crap btw) and it won't fully uninstall i get a message that says
1628: Failrd to install.
Ok i found that weird cos it's trying to install? I've re- installed it to try to uninstall it but the same message keeps coming up. I've used the normal system to remove it and also ccleaner and even Regcure to try and get rid of it..

Don't worry about the pic - we added an extra line of code to the site a while back to automatically re-size pics on the page, and if you want to view it full size, just click on the image and it'll pop up in a new window, full size.

"oh sorry i mean it comes up with a diaoligue saying it has now finished downloading do you want to open it, open folder and all that.. It just pops up.. and even when i'm not on the web either."

Ok, I'm still not quite sure what's happening here - are you actually trying to download something specific? If so, what? Or - is this happening when you try to navigate to any particular website? If so, does this just happen when using IE, or does it happen in Firefox too?

Unreal tournament 3 (I didnt find it bad to play with 2 or 3 others in a small LAN MP game here on the ship - but I still prefer Battlefield 1942, or Quake 4 for MP games like that... ) - were you using the programs own uninstall prog to take it off, or were you using the "add/remove programs" window from the control panel?

EDIT:

Used some google-fu and came up with the following...

Linky

See if the info there helps...

No i'm not trying to download anything specific. It's a diaologue box that pops up when you have finished dowloading something and no i'm not trying to navigate to a particular website and i sometimes it's not even when i am on the net at all..
and thanks for the link but they are actually talking about a purchased game.. mine wasn't purchased. it got given to me in a file format.. so i'm a bit stumped there.. and the i left it too long for the system restore that they have suggested that you do. and i'm not sure exactly how to view the registry keys to manually remove it.

I can even email you the file if you want..

So that page appears every time you download something? doesn't matter what it is (ie file type) that you're downloading, or which site you download it from?

For the registry keys, you could search using regedit for any keys associated with Unreal tournament 3, and delete them - just do a restore point before you go messing with anything - then reboot once done, and if everything is ok, all well and good. If not, do a restore from the restore point you'd done beforehand, and you're back to square one.

(to get to regedit, hit the start menu, then type regedit into the search box at the bottom - word of caution though - ALWAYS do a restore point before ever messing with the registry, just in case, since you could seriously screw up your machine if you change or delete the wrong thing...)
