First month of SUMMER:
Turn 2504
It's hot and humid and people are getting sick. No...that's not quite right. Dragons are getting sick, mostly. Some strange sickness is running around the Weyr grounding coughing, sneezing dragons. Oddly enough, some humans have been catching it, as well, despite it seemingly being a primarily dragon-aimed disease.

Alevynn Weyr - Welcome

Earthquake?!

Alevynn weyr was shook a few days ago, though most of the people of the weyr were protected from it, some suffered from the ground moving under them, a few cracks but nothing major-and nothing enough to cause injuries(the bugs are bad enough, remember see the healers if you need to!)

It would seem though one of our search riders found something. Candlemarks away from Alevynn along the coastline the water has dropped and a network of caves are exposed-and unexplored.

As it stands until more is known anyone who goes that area will be severely punished, so don't get caught

The Courtyard
Directly after you exit the weyrbowl you'll find yourself in the paved courtyard. Whatchwher handlers and there whers take turns on watch in a hollow in the weyr wall far to the left of the main exit. Benches rim the paved area on which one can sit and lounge on.

The Garden
If you follow a path that leads out of the courtyard and to the right, you may find yourself in the garden. Alevynn's gardens are large and are host to not only trees, shrubs, and flowers that are purely aesthetic, but also to picketed beds in which the Herbalists grow their herbs.

The Landing Pad
Much less of a landing pad than just a barren, huge patch of dirt, this is where dragons land after going...well, anywhere. Most people steer clear of here as dragons are prone to betweening just above it, and you'd not like to be caught under the foot of a bronze, would you?

The Weyrlake
A manmade lake large enough to fit several dragons at once. It's common for dragons to bask in here even when not being bathed as the water is cool and an easy depth. Weyrfolk and riders might find themselves tempted to swim in here too, which is just fine, so long as you don't disturb others.

The Drum Heights
The drum heights are set over the ledge of the weyr. This is where watch takes place, although many dragons find it pleasant to bask in the sun on the ledges away from the drums.

The Training Grounds
This is where all of the Wingleaders bring their wings for training. Needless to say, this is one of the most active areas of a weyr, and many times if you're looking for a dragonrider, this would be the best place to go, after their weyr of course.

The Stables
The stables is mainly used for housing the horses that are ridden in by holders or their messengers, although there are a few permanent residents here. The weyr is quite busy though, so most of these stalls are in use at least once a day. If you own a runner, this is where they will be housed. The stable is situated far from the corralled herdsbeast, thankfully, as surely the scent of blood when the dragons fed would drive them crazy. One can store their tack that they've bought in a small shed as an alternative to keeping it in their weyrs.

The Skies
Here's where any flights will be posted (although it is assumed that all characters go to the weyr of the rising female). Or if you just want to take a joyflight, feel free. This is also where the dreaded thread will fall when the time comes.

The Sands
The entrance to the sands is in the courtyard off to the right, unless you're a queenrider or a weyrleader of course- their quarters link directly to a tunnel to the sands. If a clutch is here you had better be careful. Broodmothers aren't the nicest of creatures when you show up uninvited. And mind your step, wouldn't want to touch any of her precious eggs.

The Field
The field is center of the weyrbowl, the term 'the field' being a blanket term for any undesignated space in the weyrbowl. One often finds weyrbrats out playing here, firelizards preying, and a whole mess of other things going on. Runner owners may bring their runners here to graze. There's always somebody somewhere in the field.

The Corral
The corral is where all of the weyr's herdbeast are housed for the dragons to easily hunt. The poor things hardly have a moment of rest, as there's always a dragon dropping down to grab up a couple of them.

The Bar
A favorite hangout for many of the grown riders, the bar serves alcoholic refreshments of all kinds. Tables are usually occupied by a game of dragonpoker, or just a group of rowdy drunken friends. The Bar is always open, so there's always somebody behind that counter, no matter what time of day, or night as the case may be.

The Kitchen
Here's where any hungry Candidate, Weyrfolk, or even dragonrider can come and get a snack whenever. But try not to come too often; the cooking staff doesn't like to be pestered all the time by the same person. Well, unless you get on their good side.

Bathing Chambers
For those who don't have the luxury of private baths, bathing chambers are found in the lower levels of the weyr, and is separated into two areas. The two pools are separated only by a curtain, with the sides agreed as males on the left, females on the right.

Infirmary
This is where you go (or are taken) when you are injured. They weyrhealers can generally be found tending to somebody, often with minor injuries from training sessions and the like. You can normally pester numbweed and fellis juice off of them if you annoy them enough.

Meetings of great importance are held here, and only people of great importance are allowed in. Those below the rank of Wingsecond are not allowed unless called upon. There is a large table in the middle of the room with a chair for each member in the Council around it.

The Dragonrider Weyrs
House and Home to the resident Dragonriders, the weyrs vary in size and shape. The two factors were determined by the planet itself, but their purpose has been chosen by the people. Most weyrs can fit two dragons, some fit one, but all are as unique as a fingerprint.

The Weyrling Barracks
So finally the Ordeal is over. You've made it! You have your dragonet. But surprise: That was just the easy part; welcome to your eating machine!
These weyrs are miniature versions of their counterparts, but all fit only one dragonet and Weyrling. Once the Weyrlings complete their training and are given the rank of DragonRider they will receive their very own full sized weyr.

The Candidate Barracks
Tension, fright, nervous sweats. This area of the Weyr can be very frightening indeed to enter. And it gets scarier the closer to Hatching time it becomes. Beware unsuspecting traveller! You enter at your own risk!

Weyrfolk Weyrs
Though not nearly as nice as the weyr of a dragonrider, the weyrfolks' quarters are fine enough. Anybody who doesn't ride a dragon stays in these, the higher the rank, the nicer the weyr.

The Creche
The creche is where the Assistent Headwoman can normally be found, overseeing the care of the younger weyrbrats or the much older members of the weyr. The ederly have rooms separate from those of all the small children, but needless to say, it can still get very hectic down there.

Stores Tunnels
Anything that can be preserved is stored here and watched over by the stores keepers and their records on the clipboards. The hallways are long and winding and dimly lit by glows that never seem to get refreshed when they need to be. It'd be easy to get lost here if you were new to the weyr.

Alevynn Lake
Not a large lake by any means and fed by the River that snakes its way up past Riverside Hold, it's more than suited for a non-bath swim or a relaxing afternoon of fishing. Careful though! The area is well known for the sometimes cranky wild firelizards that roam and live here and the nearby woods.

A small patch of forest that stretches from the eastern side of Alevynn Lake all the way to Riverside in the northeast. The forest thrives with wildlife, and will need much protection against Thread when it comes.

The Plains
The plains are a wide open area, overlooked by the mountains. While it's not as treacherous as the forest, it can be dangerous, as Wildcats will come here to get out of the forest or end up here after descending the mountain.

The Mountain
Much less a mountain and more of a large hill, this overlooks the plains and forests and the lake between it and the weyr. It's a nice place to go for solitude, and in the greener months is often lush and blooming with life. Though it would seem unlikely, firelizards seem to like to lay their clutches here, as it's very private and the altitude doesn't get high enough to where it is too cold to sustain the eggs.

Cliff Face
Where the water once lapped at the rock now stands an expanse several hundred man lengths down of cliff face. The sheer drop alone should be warning enough not to even try walking down, though you can easily spot the hundreds if not more of cave systems dotting the cliff wall...
