First, to join akatsuki you need at least jounin rank.

The requeriment to enter akatsuki is to be able to beat someone much stronger than you (like 4000-3000 lvs higher) or be very smart/skilled. Don't waste my time asking to enter akatsuki if you're an uchiha from leaf or grass. Also, you can enter akatsuki by beating someone that is already in it on an oficial arena challenge(I must be watching).

Inside akatsuki, the closest to 0 your number is, the strongest you are.
For example, the leader is number 1, co-leader number 2...number 10 means the weakest.
The akatsuki members can fight each other for their spots, or just exchange.

I'm accepting challenges for my akatsuki leader spot anytime, but if I win I get boosts, so be carefull.

I'm only accepting the most loyal people to enter in my squad (Devil Bringers).

Do not provoke wars or you'll get booted from akatsuki ¬¬ and if there is a war going on, give ur best to help or at least do not make things even worse.

The only other way to enter akatsuki is to be recognized by me.
