The Airship Isabella is a mercenary ship for hire. Through the use of steam powered generators, augmented by a mysterious essence known only as Aether, the crew travels from dimension to dimension, from time to time, completing jobs, causing a ruckus, and "collecting" goods from each individual world. The crew consists of many a rag-tag personality, but together with their sister ship, The Neo Dulcimer: They make a family.

On the flip side of the story, ASI is a group of artists, performers, and visionaries who have bound together to create characters who explore the boundaries of the Steampunk community and a menagerie of worlds to put them in. On their agenda: to create art for others to enjoy as much as themselves, to share their knowledge with those who find it of interest, to encourage people who would otherwise find themselves incapable of creating something wonderful to put their worries aside and realize that - with the right knowledge and tools - they can do it too!

On this forum, you will be able to keep up on ASI's most recent news. You will also be able to talk, directly, with members of the group about their art, the events they attend, the ideas they represent, or even just about the weather! Get to know others of similar interests, make friends, and share your OWN creations - whether they be props, clothing, literature, art, or otherwise.

[CODE]Soo, the good Captain Whittaker told many stories at Florida Steampunk Exhibition East. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed hearing those stories and took what I could from them.
HOWEVER.
He told a story along the lines of hitching himself to a truck and being dragged along a gravel driveway? (Don't entirely remember all details of that) But, yeah...So I have a very large chain...and a truck....and my First Officer keeps asking me to drag 'im along the ground with it. >-<

I heard that story and went "That's a really BAD idea" but apparently he heard it and went "That's a GREAT idea!"

He's going to get broken but he's seriously not listening to me-again. He's also threatening to have the other members of our crew do it which....sadly, they probably would do it.

If either of the Captains or really anyone would be so kind as to go on facebook and advice him against this, that would really help me out a LOT.
I know he'd listen to the Captains, and possibly most of the other males-no idea about the girls (Ladies, my appologies)

But, yeah. He's threatening to do it with or without my consent and I"m pretty damn sure this is a horrible idea. (pardon my language.) So...PLEASE??? I really have no other ideas of convincing him otherwise. >.>

Signed at her wit's end,
Captain Venessa Darley of the Airship Phobos.

... He does realize that the KKK did that once to a man they terrorized and it ended in his death, right? RIGHT?
Maybe if you found something like a documentory on that then it would convince him other wise...
If not; duct-tape him to a chair.
Bolted to the ground.

He can't move anywhere after that, at least?

-Sincerely

Probably not, but, I wouldn't be surprised that such a thing can kill a man. O_O

I also wouldn't be surprised if he STILL doesn't listen. >.>

And I think if I duct-tape him down to anything the rest of m' crew will accuse me of using BDSM or something. ;;;>.>

Captain Whittaker used this technique to simulate battle damage on his armor. It was a very low speed drag and for not to far of a distance if I remember the story correctly. This is not an advised method for those untrained. Use a little common sense here please.

Thank you, dearest Cannon, my thoughts exactly.

The battle damadge is what has him interested I'm afraid. Just resently he did take his armour and throw it across his driveway and it did come up with some rather interesting skid marks. An' such things I have no problem with. Honestly, I could come up with much more creative ways to create such "battle damage" as I grew up with a very long driveway AND a sidewalk out front and most of my toys ended up with scuff and skid marks eventually. (I will never understand why Florida doesn't have sidewalks.) My problem is I have yet to convince him away from this idea of being dragged while IN the armour.

If I remember this story correctly, it is how Cannon described it. The movie Jackass isn't enough to dissuade him? Those guys got seriously hurt doing stuff like that, and they didn't just let themselves be dragged. They were usually sitting on a skateboard or sled or something.

Greetings, Even though I am not one of the ASI I do have experience damaging things in unusual ways. If he want to use THAT method to simulate battle damage THAT badly. Just put something along the lines of a weighted mannequin inside the armor to simulate his weight.

However if he still insists on doing it with himself in it make sure to put alot of padding in him to ensure his safety. Also make sure he is holding on to the the chain with his HANDS and not have it TIED to him. BTW if his armor is made out of good quality leather it'll take a pretty good beating.

Sorry for the length but hope this helped.
