Hi there, I'm starting up a campaign very shortly that will be set in around the timeframe of the Dance of Dragons, around 130 years after Aegon the Conqueror's landing. I'd love some help with consolidating all the information we know about this time period, and I thought I'd turn to the people of this board.

Any information would be useful. I'm not adverse to winging it, but it's good to know as much as possible. What do we know about Rhaenyra and Aegon II? Or even their father, Viserys I? Who were their mothers? When were they born? What were their personalities like? Were there any others who contested the throne? How many dragons were alive at this time, and how many were on each side?

Thanks for your help in advance; I'll be adding to this thread as I find anything out.

Okay, what I've been able to glean so far, courtesy of westeros.org and my copy of A Feast for Crows:

- We know of three members of the Kingsguard: the twins Ser Arryk and Ser Erryk, who chose opposite sides of the conflict and eventually died fighting each other. Also, there's the Lord Commander, Ser Criston Cole; he was called "the Kingmaker" because he supported Aegon over Rhaenyra.

- Rhaenyra had at least two sons, Aegon III the Dragonbane and Viserys II. The Dragonbane was old enough to witness the death of his mother by dragon.

- Both sides used dragons during the conflict, and many of these dragons were killed during this time.

Anything else?

Hey There... I few months back I participated in a game on rpol.net called The Last Dragons. It has since been cancelled and the GM actually deleted the game, fortunately I had it listed in my favorites. It might give you some ideas about that time period. Here's the Link:

I think it's the time period you are looking for... Have fun! smile.gif

Thanks very much for this, Min! I hadn't really thought much about the king's court and I'll probably borrow and adapt liberally from this, if you don't mind!
