House Caron, House Dondarrion and House Lothson and House Mertyns are
the main houses the characters will be from. They will all be stationed on the Dornish Marches at Nightsong.

The current year is 150 After the Comquest. Dorne and Westeros have
an uneasy truce,
but raiding and ancient house rivalries spill over the border
constantly. Westeros just finished fighting its first cival war
twelve years ago called the dance of dragons, which killed off most
of the main and lesser brancehes of house Targaryen and all of the
dragons. Aegon III was the sole heir left after the wars. He has been
a good and able king and has made many improvements throughout the
kingdom. Dorne has been quite a trouble recently. Houses Dayne of
Starfall, Manwoody of Kingsgrave, Yronwood of the Yronwood, And the
Blackmonts of Blackmont have been making sorties into the reach and
the stormlands trying to provoke war. They have been burning
homesteads and stealing cattle, sheep and womenfolk. The twins of the
Yronwood have been particularly vile and have been singling out
knights of the stormlands and leaving their ambushed bodies to rot in
the sun hanging from trees. They have a collection of shields of
these fallen knights they keep in their fortress. The Yronwood is a
deadly forest full of Huge Locust trees and dangerous animals and
angry Dornishmen who hate Stormlanders. Dalton Manwoody known as
Whitespear has been ambushing caravans going to the reach, and after
murdering the merchants he has left a spear in a circle pointing in
the
direction he left by, to taunt and egg on his pursuers. Those that
have followed him have never been seen but then again blood is hard
to see on hard red sandstone. These events stem from an attempted
marriage proposal by House Dayne. During the negotiations a
swordfight broke out between Androgen Dayne The Sword of the Morning
and Roland Caron Heir to House Caron. Caron stated that he would
never marry a Dornish woman but he would gladly take her into his bed
and sire bastards by her so he could give them all surnames of Storm
and send them off to be Maesters at the citadel so they would have to
serve other noble houses and the daughters would be sent to Lys to
serve as consort whores to Tyroshi merchant Lords. This is all the
honor house Dayne deserves. The peace was shattered in a fight where
Androgen killed Caron and in the ensuing battle his sister was shot
with an arrow through the heart. Prince Martel has labeled the group
as operating against his orders but has done nothing to stop the
carnage. Aegon III is distressed, but has deemed to let the situation
handle itself without going to war.

Aegon III
The eldest son of Rhaenyra, Aegon III succeeded his uncle, Aegon II,
at the conclusion of the Dance of the Dragons, despite Aegon II
having sons of his own.

The ascension of Aegon III is a possible dynastic vindication of his
mother's claim to the throne. Conversely, Aegon III took as his queen
the sole surviving daughter of Aegon II, so rather than a dynastic
vindication for Rhaenyra, Aegon III's ascension might be viewed as a
political settlement in which both bloodlines would continue to hold
the throne.

As king, Aegon III ruled long and well in Westeros, though he is
often blamed for the death of the last dragon, having had a great
distaste for the creatures since he witnessed his mother devoured
by his uncle's beast. Although the Maesters of the Citadel may have
played a part in the death of the last dragons, Aegon III came to be
known as "Aegon Dragonbane," despite later efforts by Aegon to obtain
dragon eggs. Aegon was said to have always walked with a great grief
that marked him and the folly of his sons nearly tore the realm
apart. Two of his sons reigned as kings: Daeron I, called the Young
Dragon, and Baelor I, called Baelor the Blessed. Among his daughters
were the "Three Maidens in the Tower," Daena the Defiant, Rhaena and
Elaena.
The adventures
will take place on the Border of the Dornish marches and the
Stormlands. The Dornish Mountains are very rugged, Blood red desert
territory much like Sedona and Utah mixed. The southern Stormlands are
like Central Texas. House Caron and House Dondarrion, can be main
houses for the characters. Currently Dorne is still at war with the
Stormlands and have not sworn fealty to the Targaryens.

The pre generated heroes are the following:
Aerys Stone- Hunter/man at arms .A bastard son of House Royce from
the Vale. Born with greensight and an affinity with birds of prey. He
is a follower of the old gods. Some say his father was a Targaryen
bastard but that remains a rumor. Stone is an expert tracker and
travelled to the Stormlands because of his greensight. He has had
disturbing dreams of a white woman with black eyes in the red sands
and shades of death around her. You have since found service with
House Dondarrion to pay your way. You travel with your White Harpy
Eagle Hail.

Jacen Tarth of House Tarth- Man at Arms. Second son of Lord Wyren
Tarth of the Sapphire isle of the lesser branch of the house. Your
father was childhood friends of Braymond Dondarrion when they
fostered together at Nightsong. Your greatest desire is to find glory
and to be knighted, gain the attention of a major house and marry
above your station. Your father died at the hands of Sea Raiders,
luckily he never took his Valyrian Blade to sea with him. Now
Bloodtide is yours and you expect to be shedding some Dornish blood
with it soon. Bloodtide is a Valyrian blade with a black and blue
coloring to it. The pommel is a crossguard in the motif of mermaids
embracing a blue sapphire shrouded in waves. The sword was your great
great grandfather Balerons. He obtained it from his journeys in old
Volantis.

Roland Storm- Hunter/knave- The Bastard of Nightsong. You were sent
to Blackhaven to be out of sight of Lady Caron. Your your fathers red
headed stepchild. You never knew your mother, it is said she died in
childbirth. Your father ignored you as a child but took interest in
you when you took the White Boar of the Kingswood in the great hunt
sponsored by House Baratheon. Your father legitimized you that day
and you bear the wounds to prove it. You saved Lord Baratheon from
being gored to death and he knighted you on the spot. For you its a
title really, but you wear your sigil proudly, a White Boar on a
blood red field with a black border. You own a towerhouse and four
small farms. Charismatic and jovial, you are far better with a bow
than a sword. And you hate tourneys. On your 20th nameday a weirwood
bow appeared at court from an unknown patron. It was carved with the
face of an owl on the bowface. The only message from the patron was,
Aim true in darkness.

Maester Dion Crassius- Knave/Maester. Son of a merchant Lord and a
courtesan of Oldtown you were sent to the citadel to learn the ways
of a meister. You even have the link of Valyrian Steel to prove you
know all you could have learned from magic. You know magic is real.
You've witnessed it in the free cities with the warlocks of Quarth.
And the shadowbinders as well. You have read many volumes on magic
and are obsessed with its mystery. Some of your stolen books hold
deep secrets. Your also a master of poisons and healing, history and
seacraft. Being posted on the Marches was an insult to you. These
petty lords with their intercene squabbles. You could have had a
posting as the librarian at the great collegium. The teachers thought
you were foolish and vain and this was their punishment. So goes the
life of great men. But your biding your time. There is something
magical about Aerys Stone, and you will find out what.

Bronwen of House Mertyns- Knave. Bronwen is the high spirited
daughter of house Mertyns of the Mistwood. She was sent to Blackhaven
to learn the courtly ways of a lady. She hates being a lady. Her
mother threatened to marry her to a Dornishman. Bronwen is fine with
that. She has been the bane of House Dondarions septa for years and
Lord Dondarian thinks its pretty funny. All she can think of is the
warrior queen Nymeria. Dondarrion has let her train with weapons and
she has become quite a novelty at court. She has become close friends
with Roland Storm and the two go hunting together frequently.

area.
