AND YOULL HEAL MY SCARS.
Remus had finished his rounds in record time. At first, hed felt guilty about potentially skipping a few areas. After all, what if it was in one of those areas that something was awry? He tried to push these worries away, but the idea of something happening because he was negligent began to eat at him until he sighed and doubled back. Hed gone a little quicker than usual, anxious to get up to the astronomy tower, and had in fact gotten finished a little early. It was twenty to eight, so Remus made a detour to the kitchens, swiped some cider, and then headed back up the staircases.
The castle was falling into peace for the evening. Remus liked evenings best, when things were calm and there were fires in the common room and warm lights to read by. When Padfoots were sleepy and pliant and cuddly and Prongses and Wormtails stopped scheming and settled down for the night. Remus especially liked evenings like this, because he could spend time with Sirius, tucked away in some remote part of the castle where they wouldnt be disturbed. Ah, the perks of being a prefect.
The breeze was cool as Remus opened the door to the tower. The sun was just sinking below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the grounds. He inhaled deeply, closing his eyes for a moment. It was in moments like this that his curse fell away. He loved Hogwarts and the peace it brought him. It was rare that Moonys mind stopped churning long enough for him to get some peace. In fact, the only thing aside from books and Hogwarts that could really soothe him was Sirius. A fond little smile twitched at his lips at the thought. It was nearly eight. He would be here, soon.
Remus eyes were closed, and he was dressed in his typical worn sweater, fingerless gloves and a light scarf draped around his neck. The breeze had a bit of a bite to it, but it was nice and crisp, smelling of autumn, and it soothed him. He was so lost in his relaxation that he did not hear the door open, nor the footsteps that came up behind him.
