A series of frontal zones in the area will being showers and t-showers to the area through mid-week before a high moves in for the balance of the week through the weekend. Details to follow as needed.

A few t-showers are possibly moving through the New Glasgow area this hour. Light showers elsewhere. Not near enough to bring relief to the dry conditions.

I was in New Glasgow during some extremely heavy downpours, but didn't hear any thunder. I'm home now, but that system appears to have really fired up since then.

If I hadn't already been over that way this past weekend I might go chase it. But on Saturday we took a trip to Cape George to take advantage of the cooler weather - it was worth it.

Thanks for the report Dave. I’ve been watching the ltg map, and now it does show some activity with those cells. Very slow moving.

I think we have a chance to see a few t-showers in my area early tomorrow morning, at least a few downpours hopefully to help the fire index anyway. Another chance overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. After that, several more days of fair, dry weather through the weekend into next week.

Rain is badly needed for our local produce. Likely will see 'hefty' prices in our local produce due to low yields. I can't remember the last rainy day we had province-wide. Relatively abnormal...bring on some rain!

There were a few "spits" of rain around here today. The rain tried this morning around 10:30am, and I noticed on the way home from work what appeared to be wet spots on the road a short distance from here. Nothing showed up in the rain gauge though.

For NS , looks like two features that could increase chance of thundershower/storm - the first in the form of a weak warm front later today ... watch western NS/Valley for something potentially popping-up. The second in the form of a weak cold front/trough moving through NS from W to E early Wednesday. There could be some assistance from nocturnal cloud-top cooling/destabilizing affect as well.

Chris
PS - model-predicted indices are favorable as well.
