Good day all.
Conditions are favorable for surface-based thunderstorms over SE NB and Central and Northern NS Saturday afternoon and evening. There are many factors coming together which could (if everything holds) produce a severe thunderstorm...with hail being the main threat. CAPE values and shear will be high. Look for cells to develop in the typical areas - early afternoon in SE NB and mid to late afternoon across NS. |

Naturally I was all over this. I was rather unimpressed with the chances, but certainly saw some potential. The plan is to head up the 102 early in the afternoon to put myself in position.

Oddly enough we are just finishing our 4-day in-house Severe Weather training today. So there were 10 of us looking at all the available model data. Upper level support is looking pretty good as well. Just will depend on the amount of sunshine. But heading North on the 102 is a good idea.

Hmm...I've got nothing planned tomorrow. I think might out prowling around too. I'll see how things progress and go from there. I hope it all works out :)

Actually some latest guidance has the best action to the East along the Eastern Shore. Gonna have to keep an eye on that possibility.

Yeah saw that. A little too far out of my chase zone. Hoping we can get some sun to really start things cooking. |

All is quiet here on the Western front so far. I am heading toward the Halifax (Sackville/Beaverbank) area this evening, will have my camera with me just in case :D

Timing is not good at all. Cloud is hanging around so chances are slim for anything.
