haha - yeah, good point - or at least those should not be EXPENSIVE dress shoes - in the spirit of 'trimming' the budget ;-)
Speaking of observers and the gradual reduction in official manned weather station sites - it's groups like this that are becoming more important in being able to keep an eye on the weather. Whereas we're losing out in money to fund manned sites, it is positive that we're gaining momentum in grassroots enthusiasm. The volunteer network is becoming even more significant these days.
