And one more for good measure!
It is quite slow compared to the rest of the birds and seems pretty relaxed
Quite "bushy" and thick

Looks very much like a Grosbeak in the body. Maybe he is and just has some weird "marking deformity"?

I thought of that but it is indeed smaller than the average Grosbeak
Still may be one though

I thought it might be a Grosbeak in the molting stage, but its colors are closer to a finch. It does look too small though even for a female.

Looking back through this thread, I didn't see any pix of these guys, the Rodney Dangerfield of birds in the Maritimes. Here's one from my yard today......
