Description: too many

Is there anyway that old postings can be deleted, archived or limited to 2 or 3 posts. I think this is only a problem for adding observations. We have to schroll down through 10 posts to get the most current one.

Other topics don't require this as it is nice to read the thread to get a feel of the discussion taking place.

just my thoughts :)

An alternative might be to use the date as the topic title, and then everyone would post all their obs on a given day by replying to posts in that "topic", rather than having it organized by location. However, this would require the first person posting an ob on a given day to remember to start a new a topic, and it might make it harder if someone was interested in scrolling through all the obs for a certain location.

Just a suggestion...

I would suggest Bill, that I limit the messages per page to a low number just for that OBS section. Sound good? If you start deleting them, then you lose the archive feature.

Have you been looking at Bob's forum Rodney? ;)

What Bob does is open one each day himself for his members to post into. That is another option, but I think we'll try reducing the number per page and see what people think about it.

I'm pretty sure that if you are logged in and you click on the "last post" link on the right of the page (under whomever posted it), it will take you to the postings that you have not yet seen for that topic. At least it seems to be working that way for me. I don't know if it's because I'm subsribed to those forums or not. Danny

Actually the "Last Post" link is just to the left of the member who posted it. I'm pretty sure this works folks...try it. Danny
