“Films and books and television had started romanticizing vampires, and maybe it was only a matter of time before a vampire started romanticizing himself.”

Welcome to the new world, where Coldtown is a harsh, somewhat glamorous reality at the North East corner of The City. Lockdown Clubs are all the rage, silver is a must have accessory, and you're never really safe after dark. So unless you're interested in an all liquid diet hang garlic at your windows, travel in pairs after dark, and watch your neck...

...or it's going to be a rough 88 Days

Brooklyn had dealt with quite enough shit tonight. She was exhausted. She had spent several hours at work tonight, covering Jenna's tables and her own while the girl cried over her cheating boyfriend and smoked out back. She had given Josh a glare when he thought it would be alright to tend to their coworker instead of his busing duties. It stressed her out to have to deal with so many customers on her own and without Josh in the room, the girls were easy prey. So thanks to Jenna's breakdown and the disappearance of Josh, she had wanted to stab a man for groping her ass as she passed by the bar and another for a disgusting pick up line.

Already up to her neck in tables, Rachel decided to call in sick for her closing shift and guess who got to pick up the slack? That's right, Brooklyn. It was a busy Friday night and her plans to go out with her friend after work had dissolved. She knew Alison was pissed off at her since her text was never answered. A few hours later, Brooklyn received a text from Alison telling her how awesome seeing the movie was alone. Upsetting her best friend was the last she had wanted to do as she closed up the the diner for the evening.

Brooklyn had relished in the fact that she would be at least getting home and getting some sleep as she walked to the bus station. However, unlucky as tonight had been, it only got worse. Brooklyn had missed the bus by a minute. There was no way she was going to wait another hour for the next one. So she decided upon walking. Enticing as she was in her slim pair of jeans and a low top, there had been no point in changing after work since she had missed the movie with her friend. She received a few smirking glances as she passed a line of people waiting to get into a club.

Maybe she should have changed? She felt very out of place as she passed by in her daisy yellow diner dress and her red hair braided loosely off to the side. It was as if the end of the block was out of reach. Someone whistled as she reached the corner and she swore to God the next man to whistle at her was going wish he had never been born. She had seventeen blocks left to go. God help her she make it home without anymore trouble for one night.
